Yeah, definitely avoid Crysis 2 then. I dunno how it is for console players, but on the PC the multiplayer has been completely broken since launch. None of my class stuff saves, servers randomly drop me, some servers just don't work at all, and thats if you are lucky to find servers, as I was playing just a few hours ago and could only see 3. Even if you manage to get into a game with the kit you want, you still have to face down terrible balance. The only weapon available is still the SCAR, which completely dominates everything except at melee or sniper range, and some of the perks are unbalanced as well. It has come down to the point where I can accurately predict which team will win based purely on player levels.
I can't say Brink will be an incredibly amazing multiplayer experience, but with Splash Damage developing it (two prior games known for their competitive team-based, objective-based gameplay) and Bethesda marketing it, I doubt it will fall below Crysis 2's extremely shallow bar.
i cant even get my multiplayer to work after all this time, just emailed them for the third time
Alright then I guess that's what I'll do
To all who care, I just installed Crysis 2 onto EA download Manager and now will be getting updates when released.
The game should auto update when you run Crysis2Launcher.exe

Something must be seriously fucked with your game
I see hundreds of servers. Sure it's annoying 75% of them are germany servers, but I still see tons of them below 125 ping.
Never had the game make me lose rank, because all you have to do is quit when your playing in-game.
My class stuff has always saved. Sometimes the menu for it in the main menu "forgets" what attachments I had, but it's a simple as not bothering with it (as I still spawn with them in-game) or re-applying it in the menu.
Balance still needs work yes but honestly the more I've played I've realized the DSG in the right hands, the nade launcher in the right hands, the feline/scarab in the right hands and the jackel in single shot mode completely rapes just as much as the scar does.
SCAR's only annoying because you start with it and it's clearly one of the easier to use weapons in the game with no downsides to it. It doesn't help that half the time the hit detection is terrible, so frequently you'll get killed by them seemingly in one or two hits on your end. Jackel is short range, DSG is long range, feline you run out of ammo quick, nade launcher is really hard to control up close, etc. But they all still rape. The only one IMO that clearly sucks is the Marshall and the MG.60.
I HONESTLY don't see the hype in brink. I looked at a big walkthrough video and it pretty much looks exactly like a long game of Dustbowl in TF2, with each class having specific scripted and highly simplfied objectives, and the (IMO unappealing) artstyle of Borderlands. While neat, I can't see myself buying a full price game on only that premise unless there is more depth and dynamic to the gameplay then they've shown. It doesn't look like that though when your "class specific" objectives as a stealth "interrogator" player consist of walking up to some randomly placed NPC, pushing a button to complete the objective and getting some linear scripted event to happen and some XP. Now think about doing that OVER AND OVER. That doesn't sound like something I'd personally be interested in.
Yeah, there is something wrong with my game, as well as the games of the vast majority of Crysis players. Maybe not all the problems I am having, but certainly most. If Brink launches and is playable within the first 3 weeks of release it will already be a better game than this garbage.
Ok i'm really getting fed up with this.
500 ping on a server that is under 100km away from me, and occasional multiplayer freezing.
I haven't seen any servers below 120 ping, and all of the servers with players have >300 ping.
Atleast I'm enjoying the single player :unsmith:
Whoa. What happened to all the servers? They're all empty, the only ones with players in my area are Pro Instant Action.
:sigh:
The servers suck balls. I wonder how many fixes the next patch will have whenever they actually release a damn patch
I found Crysis 1 to be overrated and over hyped trash. The story made no sense halfway through the game (I like a good story in a game [see HL1/HL2 and Deus Ex 1] or at least a coherent one). And the multiplayer was just a joke (with unbearable lag). I think I might have played it like twice.
I can't trust the reviewers since they were, in my opinion, bribed to give it high scores (like PCGamer US giving it a 98 trying to put it on par with HL2 roflmao) so I'll wait for the price to drop before getting Crysis 2..
You could just say your PC couldn't run it well.

Had nothing to do with the performance, and I believe I had a GeForce 8800 GT at the time.
I just wasn't a fan of the story and how you don't fight the Koreans anymore half way through the game. As far as the multiplayer well like I said, I thought it was buggy, laggy (not my frame rate), and sub par. I found it asinine for this game to get scores that put it on par with HL2 (which imo was the best game of the past decade).
IMO it was ok for a "play it once then never touch it again" game, but was nothing special aside from it's graphics. This is of course my opinion and you don't have to agree.

Well I asked my friend who has the game and he's saying the same stuff about how he can't get servers to show up and doesn't have good connections to that ones that do. Also he says a lot of annoying things about the perks like how invisibility becomes useless against people with a perk to see them until you buy ANOTHER upgrade to invisibility and other such balancing issues
He really likes the singleplayer but multiplayer sounds like a pain in the butt
So have they fixed stats not tracking yet?
Or is the game still an unplayable landfill full of money at this point?

My stuff saves, every once in awhile. I would say that about half of my total gametime has just disappeared though.
Be glad you can access multiplayer.
Some of us still can't login.

I know you're joking but the funniest part is that some people on the MyCrysis forums actually reply to complaints saying that "you have no reason to complain, you're just lucky enough to log in, and you're COMPLAINING about bugs?", as if the fact that the game doesn't work for 70% of the people who own it means the people who can get past the first barrage of bugs aren't allowed to complain when something else works.

What does the story have to do with the performance settings?
What does the story have to do with the performance settings?
My original post here was about the story being (imo) crap. Someone responded with an unrelated troll post about my system performance.
I never said anything about my system not being able to handle it because at the time I had a pretty good video card and performance wasn't an issue. I felt crysis was weak in terms of story and other aspects. In other words one big, expensive tech demo with no substance.
the actual game was awesome, sure the story was generic as fuck but it wasn't cringeworthy, just an entertaining ecifi romp
The gameplay, the freeform approach was great, the graphics supplemented that.

--------> The Joke
-----------> Your head
i saw the trailers and the gameplay video in grand central station and i thought new york would be a bit less dead
would be cool with civilians running around everywhere
oh well though, the game was still fucking amazing
i'm surprised it was able to run that well on my xbox
