Crysis 1 wasn't free roam either bro.
Yes it was. Maybe not like GTA IV but you could go really far.
No it wasn't.

Not it wasn't, rooms just were a lil' bit bigger, "son".
Instead, Crysis 2 got a lot better pacing.
Ok, i admit defeat.
BUT, it had more "roam" than Crysis 2.
You can't deny that.
Still waiting for DX11. :frown:
Crysis wasn't freeroam, but it wasn't a corridor shooter like Crysis 2. You weren't limited to a small area of the island in Crysis, you could go just about anywhere. In Crysis 2 you are constrained to a very small area of the city in each level, nothing like they originally implied Crysis 2 would be.

I woudlnt' call Crysis 2 a corridor shooter either, that's like saying Halo is a corridor shooter. Halo is strictly linear, but the level design usually involves battling over expanses of terrain that are rather open.
Crysis 2 fits somewhere between Crysis 1 and Halo with it's level design. The levels have "wiggle room" in your gameplay options like in Crysis 1, but are sized closer to Halo or ODST (never played it but I assumed it would have a more city-like feel than Halo1 or something) and C2 also features "Halo-like" interior sections throughout the campaign at points.
Crysis 2 may not be as open as Crysis 1 was but it sure as hell is a lot more fun to play.
Crysis 1 was not any more free roam than Crysis 2.
You have slighlty more X axis space in Crysis 1, but in Crysis 2 you have A LOT MORE Y axis space.
In Crysis 1 you had to start at point A, kill people at B, do objective at B, continue to C formula.
Exactly like Crysis 2.

Yeah when the fuck are they going to announce further details on that? They announced it over a week ago that it was coming and there still isn't any information on it. I'm waiting to do another playthrough on DX11 to experience the campaign in it's full glory.
One thing I miss from Crysis 1: The tranquilizer gun
One thing I never will miss from the original: Spending 30 minutes walking (or 45 swimming) to the objective, getting blown up by a grenade, respawning back where I was 30 minutes ago due to me not saving, and then walking all over again due to the nearest vehicle being a good 10 minutes away.
One thing I will never miss is dieing from walking over a table, as in that game any physics object moving is deemed a fatal blow.
Tranq gun was usless though. It did the same exact effect of killing someone, except less cool, only once per X number of seconds and they woke up 30 seconds later anyways

Still waiting for unrestricted console. :saddowns:
I think Crysis 2 would really benefit from a survival mode. Hopefully someone can make one when the editor comes out. I always replay the missions for the battles to see how long I can survive.
I'm really disappointed with the purchasable soundtrack. It doesn't include all the music in the game, and the part that annoys me most, is that the music from the epilogue is gone as well. Quite disappointed to be honest.
There is a collector edition soundtrack I think that comes with all the songs. If not, I can give you all of them if you wish. Just PM me the ones you need.
So at the moment I've just finished the first Crysis and I'm extremely disappointed since the aliens showed up because I used to play super sneakily but I just can't do that with the aliens. Like I would take an hour to do one objective but everything would be dead perfectly and I'd barely use any bullets (Aw yeah, tactical attachment). Whatever the case can I play sneakily and stuff in Crysis 2?

It was supposed to be used against nanosuited guys as it knocks them out allowing you to finish them off without them being concious.

Welp the game sure did a great job of explaining that :downs:

It was a nice touch how you could die if you strength jumped into the ceiling or walked over a filing cabinet. There was one level where I died more times from an overturned filing cabinet than from the koreans.

Really? It never said anything about it. That actually works?

Ya, you can take out tons of them easily, just snipe them then set your suit to strength and punch'em it doesn't even take a bullet.
I'm on the verge of outright quitting MP right now.
Every single server I've played on tonight has either had:
1. Some of the worst hit detection I've ever experienced in a game (frequent one hit deaths from scars while single-fire mode shotgun shells decide to randomly register or not).
2. Obvious script kiddie
Even in supposid clan "moderated" servers - because in reality they can't do shit to stop it.
Really sad... Crytek appears to be in no real position to fix any of this :\
The multiplayer would be fine if the above was fixed (and better weapon balance was achieved between all weapons). It literally makes it almost unplayable.
Played for the first time in a couple weeks, got a rank, left the server.
Join an empty server to set my kits up.
Rank is gone.
Is Crytek fucking serious? We are almost a month from release and you can't play the multiplayer component of a $60 game. Seriously?

Exactly the same happened to me.
Banned from the forums :downs:
Time to demand a refund from Steam.

No refunds. :frown:
Worth a try. I didn't get one for Homefront but that game was a hair more playable than this is.
Buying back to back terrible shooters is killing me.

For what? Honestly if you're banned from the forums it sounds like you must have been really throwing shit there, seeing as there's plenty of bad mouthing going on that doesn't involved a banned user.
Is it like ME where if you are banned there, you are banned from the game too?
Waiting for a price drop so I can use my amazon vouchers not sure whether to get his later or Bulletstorm now
get bulletstorm and just avoid anything to do with Crysis 2 until Crytek gets there thumbs out of their asses and release DX11 patch + Sandbox editor.
