why is your opinion so wrong?
Because it's his opinion.
I just got the game on EADM Holy fuck does it suck. I loved the first Crysis so much, and I don't even want this piece of shit on my harddrive. Most disappointing game of 2011.
Jesus fuck, aren't you exagerating there?
Anyone else get their Crysis 2 updated? Anyone have any patch notes?
Jesus fuck, aren't you exagerating there?
No. I honestly have no interest in continuing past the second level, and this is coming from someone who played through the first multiple times. The suit is terribly gimped. They took away something that could be very strategic, and streamlined the fuck out of it. I no longer feel like a badass, I feel like a regular guy who can go invisible, jump high, run at modest speeds, and deflect bullets. The strategy associated with balancing the suits is entirely gone, and now it's just press q when ur gettin shot and press e when u wanna hide. The slide mechanic is annoying because the game doesn't let you dual bind keys, so crouch HAS to be c and not control because pressing ctrl+shift is not practical at all. Also they took out prone, are you fucking kidding me. The pacing is absolutely atrocious. The game used to be a slower paced, more tactical shooter. The entire game feels about 120% faster than the previous game (except the running, which is actually slower), making precision much more difficult. I seriously can't get over WHY they made the gameplay so much quicker, and making the environments so claustrophobic. I could handle one or the other, but not together. And lastly the environments fucking suck. I love the idea of a city, but this is taking one of the greatest sandbox shooters of all time, and turning it into a generic linear shooter. The formula goes large room, hallway, large room, hallway, etc. There is variance in the environments, but it makes no difference in how the game is played. The super jump is not as useful as it was in the first, because of making everything higher and requiring grabbing onto ledges. This would be fine except grabbing onto ledges is a set event, which not every environmental piece has. Getting the vantage is much more difficult due to this gimped platforming. This game RUNS on the same engine as the original Crysis, but that's the only thing similar. This is a bastardization of the original game into a more "successful" formula, that I absolutely cannot stand. I cannot regret getting this game any more. I should've just got warhead.
Anyone else get their Crysis 2 updated? Anyone have any patch notes?

PC Changes: • Vote-kicking feature added. • Added a reserved slot system for server admins. • Further improvements to anti-cheat measures. • Objectives are returned if they end up in forbidden areas. • Fix for Nanosuit Modules that could not be leveled in some circumstances. • Fix for some instances of errors logging into multiplayer that would report "Could not connect to Gamespy". • Fix for unlock tokens failing to be awarded if a player quit a game in which they leveled up before the end of the round. • Fix for inconsistencies with weapon zooming. • Fix for outdated stats being saved when a client leaves mid-game. • Fixes to the Nanosuit Reboot option available at level 50. • Fixed several weapon exploits. • Fixed a rare issue where auto-aim, stealth kill and grab would not work on an AI. • Reduced memory footprint of sound. • Optimized full screen effects on some graphics cards. • Optimized SSAO on some graphics cards.
Take your time, sneak, scout, and if you want, either attack or go through undetected. Also learn to aim better. Environment was beautiful, but I agree on that it was kind of too small on some parts. Also it should be a general rule that one shouldn't be allowed to criticize something without having played it through, in my opinion. Except how it looks. Though that's just my opinion.

Is it just me or does slide sometimes just doesn't work and instead you crouch infront of your enemy like a fucking retard?
Is it just me or does slide sometimes just doesn't work and instead you crouch infront of your enemy like a fucking retard?
I don't think it works in power mode.
I don't think it works in power mode.
As far as i know it's vice versa, you have to be in power mode (sprinting) to use this. I thank that problem may be that random shit have a tendency to interrupt sprint.
Oh shit, my bad. I was actually referring to armor mode. I mixed them up.
I don't use armor mode, like ever. Only when face to face with an enemy in a bad position.
wow. TERRIBLE spawn system. I was playing Crash site on Wall street or something, new round and I spawned in this little area 2m away FACE TO FACE with an enemy. I killed him, reloaded, ANOTHER GUY SPAWNED IN HIS PLACE. He killed me, I respawned IN THE SAME PLACE AGAIN and I killed him.
Crytek pulled out all the stops to create a shooter with worse spawns than Call of Duty, and I ain't gonna lie, did a mighty fine job of it. Props.

Gee thanks Dr Breen. You sure are a swell fellow. Sorry that crazy mute with a crowbar fucked up your house.
Didn't that other group do MP and not Crytek? Crytek UK, formerly that other team I think
With the newest 1.4 patch, some console commands aren't restricted anymore. For instance, you can modify SSAO and shadows.
Didn't that other group do MP and not Crytek? Crytek UK, formerly that other team I think
yeah, that team who have never made a pc game before
Yeah, wasn't it the guys who made TimeSplitter? Though that is the only vague memory I have of the devs, I very much doubt it's right.
Hit detection appears to be alittle better for me, at least it was last night. I still got some bullshit deaths here and there but I was at least able to do the same to other people and my shots generally landed well.
Gee thanks Dr Breen. You sure are a swell fellow. Sorry that crazy mute with a crowbar fucked up your house.
Oh no problem, i'm actually an advisor now. and i've eaten eli vance's brains, tasty really. And no i'm not lying i'm posting from a 2032 Combine internet travel machine personal macintosh [editline]27th April 2011[/editline] i still wonder how i have time for modding and such
But.. how does your macintosh play Crysis 2? Has technology advanced that far?!
But.. how does your macintosh play Crysis 2? Has technology advanced that far?!
Steve Jobs is also an advisor we have brunch sometimes. Combine Rules!
Free Radical is the dev's who created Timeaplitters incase your wondering... And Haze. But we could forget about that slightly failed experement, Good idea to try new things but sometimes it bites you on the ass. Anyway, i'll be waiting for that next update with all the weapon changes and if it makes the game more playable. Then i'll keep it. If not, Im trading it in for Brink early.
fucks sake can't they add a "join server when slot is available"? I've been waiting 5-10 minutes to join a server, but the Australian ones are all full. I got into one but Crysis 2 crashed. [editline]28th April 2011[/editline] any Australians here own the game? Because there are like 10-20 games.on.net/GameArena servers and only 1-3 are ever populated.
Sandbox3 is working again. So much fun. It's still a crashy bitch though. If anyone still has access to the console (which will not work outside of the editor ._.)... g_infiniteSuitEnergy :v:
Is the game worth 44$? I have heard mix feelings about the game.
