I'd wait about a month or two before declaring that Crytek has screwed us over. It's their first real foray into console gaming (I think the console versions of the Far Cry games were handled more by Ubisoft than Crytek), of course something's going to get a bit bungled for the PC platform. Give them some time to fess up. But then again, I might just be uncharacteristically optimistic.
You're right, I'm being too harsh. I think it's the foliage that's annoying me. It's reaaaalllyy bad. Why didn't they have the guys who did the first game do the trees and bushes for this one?

What happened to it just being the latest military technological marvel like in the first one? Why has it all of a sudden become a symbiotic organism that apparently bonds with your freaking mind and kills you if you wear it for too long? I want the simple old "supercool powersuit" back.
I am not playing multiplayer until they fix stat tracking. My sniper rifle is unlocked but will not track kills because the assessment is locked, meaning I can't unlock attachments for it (including the reflex sight I badly want)
Because I've yet to see a company screw pc gamers then suddenly make the best PC game ever after. Also does anyone want to go around in a group? Here's my best score if you are debating going with a few facepunchers. [IMG_thumb]http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/1508/crysis22011032818491215.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
I'd like to, maybe in 30 mins or something like that. Add me on Steam, it's under my avatar.
Is there a way to make sure my stuff stays unlocked or do I have to keep unlocking the same shit in every pre-game lobby until it stays?
You're very quick to lose all faith in Crytek for their one bad egg out of a nest of good games.
In my opinion, I think Crysis 2 was a one of the better eggs in the bunch.
They have release like 3 games. Two of them were tech demos. :v:
I am starting to enjoy the classic modifier. It gives a nice break from everyone cloaking.
Classic is actually a lot of fun, just wish you could sprint for longer. Apparently "Classic" refers to the 1930s when everyone had polio.
Things that would make me love this game more: - Advanced options - Editor - 64-bit
Yeah, I'm kind of holding out for the editor. The Cryengine Sandbox is just so sleek and nice to work with, it's as fun to use as the game itself.
Fucking glitches. I keep losing the pistol silencer in singleplayer. Whenever I find a pistol/feline with a silencer it doesn't save, so when I lose that gun I don't keep the silencer. It's pissing me off because I only have that, the gauss attachment and something else (don't know what) to get 100% on singleplayer. :argh:
Yeah, I'm kind of holding out for the editor. I mean, I like some of the custom levels for Crysis more than I like Crysis itself (a few of the entries for the Intel Mapping Contest held on Crymod some time ago count, like Vulcano, Airfield, and Castaway Island). I'd like to see what those modders could do with Crysis 2 resources, like the city environments.
I have absolutely no idea how to do anything but make a few islands, so I'm hoping the editor will have some very beginner friendly features.
I remember the first editor (Far Cry) had a great ~200 page manual that eased you into it by walking you through the creation of a tutorial level. When Crysis came out they released an updated version with an extra 40 or so pages to go over the new features. I'm willing to bet that that manual will still apply here and that they'll post it somewhere. (With some added pages for new engine features)
What exactly is this "Platinum Dog Tag" you get for pre-ordering? I'm not sure if by pre-order bonuses are active or if I'm having the same issues as many others. Also MyCrysis forums are filled with bunch or 12-year-olds, retards and pirates. Very difficult to find any useful info.
Another thing I'll be glad to see once modders get a hold of the Crysis 2 sandbox: No more Korean enemies. Koreans as enemies are just too restrictive for map-makers, because there are very few settings it'd make sense for Koreans to be in (it's pretty much "Tropical Island or Bust" with them). C.E.L.L. soldiers, on the other hand, are Private Military Contractors, so you can put them anywhere and it'd make sense, from guarding an oil pipeline in Africa to defending a research base in the Arctic, from a Tropical Island to a Dense City, they're more environmentally versatile than North Koreans. Too bad there aren't any elite mooks for C.E.L.L. soldiers like the Korean Nanosuits, though.
Does anyone else lose connection in every round? I can't play a full round without losing connection
Does anyone else lose connection in every round? I can't play a full round without losing connection
Yes, many other have the same problem. Suggested workarounds are opening your firewall and/or wait for the next patch. [editline]29th March 2011[/editline]
The dogtags trim changes in shape and makes them SHINY.
They have release like 3 games. Two of them were tech demos. :v:
are you saying far cry and crysis were not good games in their own right because you'd be wrong
Crysis 2 just needs a little more time and an anti-cheat protection and it'll be fine. It a bit annoying to not being able to play MP even though I pre-ordered :saddowns:
are you saying far cry and crysis were not good games in their own right because you'd be wrong
They both showcased their technology more than concentrating focus on gameplay/story elements. As for Crysis 2, their main focus was obviously a great story.
They both showcased their technology more than concentrating focus on gameplay/story elements. As for Crysis 2, their main focus was obviously a great story.
Crytek games have great gameplay. Can you think of any other shooters as open ended as Crysis?

Pretty much if you can switch the surround you have it.
I'm so fucking annoyed by all the 12 y/o trying to convince people to pirate it instead of buying since not all bugs are fixed yet. I'm not against piracy, you can't stop it no matter what, I'm against retards that are trying to justify the fact that they're pirating. If you're pirating, fine with me, it's your choice, just don't go around and say that's it's perfectly okay to do it, for fucks sake. For fucks sake. In the campaign my melee will randomly stop functioning and I have to restart the game. And since the save system is the worst in video game history I have to go through a bunch of aliens all over again. Also I hope they don't keep that voice actor for Karl Rasch. I'd kill myself if Crysis 3 had him talking the whole time.
Crytek games have great gameplay. Can you think of any other shooters as open ended as Crysis?
Can I think of other shooters as open as Crysis? Not off the top of my head. Can I think of other shooters with more solid gameplay and story than Crysis? You bet your nano-ass I can.
can i think of other shooters as open as crysis?
s.t.a.l.k.e.r.
Pro-tip: The Guass Attachment is a piece of shit.
the shotgun attachment is 10x times better than the actual jackal shotgun, hahahaha
