in dx11 mode my game won't scale to fullscreen, just like what crysis in dx10 does.
i need to get it running in 59hz to fix that i believe, anybody know how to do that?
So do I need to download the ultra high settings from the interwebs. Plus the Steam update which I just downloaded.

i went in-game and it suggested that to me, I had ultra selected and to the right was the "download tesselation super mega <link>"

ok i got it ultra update, wonder if i can run the high res textures too
First time playing Crysis 2 since late early april and then I only played some annoying matches. Honestly, I find it really fun. I played about 30 minutes in SP and I felt it flowed really well, animations were smooth, guns felt sharp and reactive, the quality feels... blurry, I have motion blur on max, but the game doesn't feel crisp. Sort of like it was shot through a plastic lens. It looks good, but I like crysis 1's perfect crisp look to it. Anyways, I'm going to hold off any just do an LP of it.
So which of these work on DX9?
Pretty sure you can install all of it, just turn off DX11 mode and it will run with some of the added textures and effects, just nothing DX11 specfic.
Meh, installing high-res texture pack sure takes a lot of time.

Oh wait, it doesn't.
It won't let me enable high res textures. how do i?

Do you have the minimum specs?
Minimum:
o 64-bit Operating System
o DX9 compatible graphic card with 768MB Memory
i think i'm gonna wait for an ati patch and another crysis patch until i play though this again in dx11
sometimes it's playable on ultra at 40-60fps during a firefight, othertimes just walking around doing nothing i can get 20-30, and some major stutter bringing me down to 15 when it seems like it's loading stuff
needs the kinks worked out imo
I can't really spot the difference after I installed the high res texture pack... And yes it is enabled.

4000'th post! :neckbeard:
played a little campaign with ultra upgrade pack + high textures pack
it looks really good, especially when you rack up aliens dead with M60

I'm always jealous of Buscuits voice and his ability to make really well designed videos. I don't have his kind of forethought.
Seems like it is time for me to get C2 and a 580GTX.
Do I require a 64-bit OS to enable DX11 effects? Because it still somehow won't allow me to enable it.
Pretty sure the 64bit is for the textures.
Well, I'm out of ideas then.
You installed the DX11 patch? How is it not letting you enable it?
I really don't know. The DX11 option is still grey, so I can't do anything with it.
does your card support dx11 :p
...
Fuuuuuuuck. Apparently the HD4870 does not support DX11. So I can't use any of the new options. This sucks.

How could you not know that?

Eh, I'm not that well informed about graphics cards.

it's only an english accent, we can swap if you like

Even if it were DX11 you wouldn't use it. The card can't handle doing all that.

No, he has radio qualities in his voice. I'm not talking about the accent.

Looks, like MP gets some mods!
Does Crysis 2 support any sort of demo recording and frame dumping?
Someone must make a zombie survival mod for either SP or MP. MP would be more fun though. Also, guys, Sandbox is coming out soon!
If there's going to be a zombie mod for this I am definitely getting it

Yeah you can record timedemos and play them back, although I think it only captures player actions (AI movements etc aren't recorded). Whether that'll be enabled in the editor release is a different story.
dx11 patch is great
mainly for the advanced graphics options + highres textures
