That is bullshit :( Why Crytek?
Because it's time to move on from 32-bit OSs. 64-bit is the future direction of operating systems and applications being limited just speeds up the process. [editline]29th June 2011[/editline]
Why are you not running a 64bit OS?
Better question: any way to access the US EA Store from outside of the US? :v:
Ugh, I can't figure out anything related to texturing.
From memory unfortunately: View -> Open View Pane -> Open Terrain Texture Layers Editor (or something to that effect). There should be a default layer there, ignore it. Hit add layer. Select your new layer, go to the material editor (View -> Open View Pane -> Material Editor), find a material you want under materials/terrain, go back to the terrain texture layers editor, click assign material with your desired layer selected. This should assign the detail texture; if you want to add a distance texture (how it looks when you move out of the viewdistratio for the detail terrain), then I think there's a load texture button on the left hand side somewhere where you can manually pick a .dds from the explorer. Then to Rollupbar -> Terrain tab -> Layer painter, select your new layer, and paint away.
I'm getting a new computer in a couple weeks, I didn't want to wait that long to try the editor
Why are you not running a 64bit OS?
Yah know, some of us cant afford a 64bit OS or dont want to change.
Yah know, some of us cant afford a 64bit OS or dont want to change.
A 64-bit OS is no more expensive than a 32-bit OS, and why NOT change? All but 16-bit software from >1999 is fully compatible, as are 90% of devices.
Does the editor crash a lot for anyone else? Whenever I do specific tasks, such as trying to paint on a lot of trees? I get a "warning" message when loading up the editor, too, but I don't know if anyone else is also getting that. This is the warning:

I can understand people not bothering to upgrad from an older 32bit version to 64bit version, but atleast now there is little or no reason to choose 32bit over 64bit for a new system or OS.
Anyone know how to change the skybox?
So after this massive update with multiplayer mods and the sandbox has MP livend up (to a decent multiplayer experience not like Brink) [editline]30th June 2011[/editline] player wise and connection wise
Hey guys. How do you open maps? It does not work like in cryengine 2 when you just click on the map.
File > Open. If this doesn't work, it's because Sandbox bugs out if the folder path includes a registered trademark symbol - which I believe the limited edition from EADM/Origin or the retail disc does. Remove it from the folder name and it should work fine.

I'm excited to test it all out.

are the console commands in Crysis 2 still missing a lot? give item and what not?
are the console commands in Crysis 2 still missing a lot? give item and what not?
Not under the editor. As far as I know they're still really restricted under the regular game though.
Crysis 2 keeps crashing when ever I try to load a save game. Everything is at default, it worked fine last month, and its a fresh steam install.
I suck using the editor. :saddowns: [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] What does the teapot logo with an exclamation point means?
My crashing issue only seemed to happen when loading save games, starting a new game worked fine. Were Realtime reflections suppose to be DX11 only? I can see them in DX10 with out the DX11 patch installed, they look like crap and also exist along side regular cubemaps so it looks funny http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/540646729993511449/825C61526700CFCECABC9F7245F5096A5763B175/ http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/540646729993512150/B4876805A1A7DCF1D1FE0D9F104D87ECDE352815/ http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/540646729993558981/A25051E2F0417DC77FB719852E6B00A5C115ED28/
On the rollup bar, go to the second option (kind of looks like a ramp) and choose "layer painter" and select your texture on the bottom. You can change things like the radius and hardness. Then you paint it onto your terrain.
Tried this, I don't see any option for browsing textures or anything like that :I What do I do here? So, any replacement Cvar's for the timestep option?
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1073581-Crysis-2?p=30788510&viewfull=1#post30788510 [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] They work under DX9 and DX11/10, yeah.
kk, but I take it they look better in DX11?
kk, but I take it they look better in DX11?
Not really :v:
Were reflections in the game before the patch? I don't remember them, then again I never looked. [editline]30th June 2011[/editline] I've noticed the added Global illumination/Radiosity or what ever the reflecting colours are called. (That first shot might just be glare) http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/540646729993988399/EEA094B64FCE8D0BF927DA40D8B9E5B8DF0FC03A/ http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/540646729993987055/3D366BD41CE4A75E33F91A25B928520A8EC24489/
Loading any SP map in the editor freezes my computer up and crashes randomly. I have 6gb of ram and it uses around 1.5 gb, which is fine. FPS is also fine, even on dx11 I hope it's an issue that will be fixed with a patch soon
I don't think so, DX11 added Real-Time Local Reflection. I don't think I remember any reflections before the patch.
or maybe i do need more ram
I don't think so, DX11 added Real-Time Local Reflection. I don't think I remember any reflections before the patch.
It must have been in the main patch not the DX11 patch because I can seem them in DX9/10. They look like crap, but they are there.
The editor is pretty nice, but it does have a few issues that could be patched.
