Were reflections in the game before the patch? I don't remember them, then again I never looked.
[editline]30th June 2011[/editline]
I've noticed the added Global illumination/Radiosity or what ever the reflecting colours are called. (That first shot might just be glare)

The global illumination has been in since release.. It's not even enabled half the the time though, they block the GI effects in most indoor areas with some GI occluder. It's dumb.
or maybe i do need more ram
Nah, I have 6GB and I can load any of the SP maps fine..
I personally like GI and think it's one of the best things about lightning in games ever.
This has been helpful for me: http://sdk.crymod.com/dashboard.action
Oh, and thanks for this.
[editline]30th June 2011[/editline]
Now I noticed that the editor in the SDK site differs from the one we have. For instance, vehicle editor is missing.
So, are the new textures etc not included in the 1.9 patch?
So, are the new textures etc not included in the 1.9 patch?
It's a separate download.
That was true in Crysis 1 since every single DX10 rendering feature could be enabled in DX9 mode with the exception of per-object motion blur.
Even that works flawlessly in DX9, bar a little bit of shutter speed issues.
I decided that now we got what we should have had months ago I should buy Crysis 2.

Only thing I noticed Object motion blur screwing up on in DX9 was the Alien Scout's tentacle things. They were in a constant state of over blur.

:v:
I don't know why they didn't just do per-pixel motion blur, it's basically the same sort of shader but it works on everything, not just objects and particles. You can literally have an animated texture and it'll get motion blurred.
What is keeping me from running on the highest settings?

Basically what's the problem here is my aim. I can run it, but the aim feels so sluggish, slow like and delayed pretty much.

Well your CPU is fine, and the GPU shouldn't be much of a problem unless Nvidia did some retarded numbering on that and it's actually nowhere near comparable to a 460 like you would think.

GPU aint that great.
It lags a tiny little bit even with a GTX 570 and i5-2500k 3.3ghz
(1920x1080 reso, everything on ultra + the high res textures-pack)

DX11?
yes, of course

Damn, I was gonna upgrade my PC to pretty much this, and I have an even higher resolution to run it at.

Nvidia actually DID some retarded numbering with that one. It's more like a 450 that is prone to failure as well. The 460 beats it out of the park.
Wonder how my second GTX480 will help when I run this game maxed on 3 1080p monitors, well I would presume. Plus I can tweak the lods myself, it makes no visual quality difference but it sure helps the perf a lot. I also noticed that in Crysis they had occlusion culling mostly disabled, what the fuck were they playing at...
Really horrible start for the SDK... Crymod is barely working, the new layout is terrible to navigate through and half of their customer base is disappointed because the SDK is 64bit exclusive...
I hope their Open SDK isn't 64bit
Well I'll probably have a 64bit system by then, but still.

And I thought I was running the maximum resolution
guess not. but anyway the lag is hardly noticeable, unless you spray bullets to a wall at point blank or something.
Some awesome art coming already; this one's from Vert-X on Crymod.

i'm pretty sure it's not since the beta and sdk leak have a 32 bit version

i have a 470 and it performs great on dx11, i get around 40 fps on the SP levels in the sandbox editor. dx11 and ultra

If you at all serious about mod development you WILL have a 64 bit OS installed. A 32 bit Sandbox would be horribly unstable.

Still, it would be better than nothing. And while 64bit undoubtedly is heavily recommended, it still came as a shock to a lot of people (including myself). I mean if Sandbox 2 (and the leaked Sandbox 3) runs nicely on 32bit, then why couldn't the official one?

Big surprise, people are finally leaving old technology behind. Anyone who was smart enough to buy the non-OEM version of windows got x64 with it anyway, so there's no excuse really.
And what stops you copying the 32 bit leaked editor exe to your gamecrysis2 folder?
I love how Facepunch never sugar-coats anything.

CE3 has an incredible lighting system.
Might I be able to run Crysis or Crysis 2 on this build?
