Crysis 1 coming to consoles. That's surprising.
crysis 1 on cryengine 3 would be amazing
Might I be able to run Crysis or Crysis 2 on this build?
If I can run it on my desktop from 2006, 8600, 2 gb of ram, and 11 gigs of free space on my harddrive, you can for sure. [editline]1st July 2011[/editline] and on windows xp

It's a solid game by any standard, with some standout moments that you won't forget.
yeah no
Crysis 2 had a much more believe-able world. However, when it comes to gameplay, it's mostly personal preference. I liked both very much and it's hard for me to say which one is better.

That was a dumb thing to do). And is it just me, or does the DX 11 Depth Of Field only show up in cutscenes? Well, but, yeah. Though the book's (Crysis: Legion) is superiorest. [editline]2nd July 2011[/editline] Well, okay, I can't really decide which one I prefer more, but the book's still superior.
Why is the ground turning white when I get close to it in Sandbox? (seen here) I figure it has to do something with getting a high-res texture to be drawn at that level of detail, as the island texture is very low-res, but I have no idea where to go about doing that. The Layer Painter doesn't seem to really have much for that.
Can someone tell me how this guy got the game itself looking like this? Are there console commands for DoF and to remove the HUD in game?
Probably using Sandbox?
Crysis 2 runs better for me at high settings then Crysis 1 at high.
Crysis 1 on Very High runs better than Crysis 2 on Ultra for me
Crytek's shader guys should be ashamed, why is the shadowmap bias so huge if it makes no effect past .1 other than huge gaps in the shadows. default: nil: my fix: You can see that with zero bias there's obvious shadow acne, but with 0.1 there's none and the shadows are perfectly aligned with the character. Oh so it seems their shadowmapping is pretty shit anyway, because it works with some things but with the Warehouse level everything breaks. Well at least this works in some specific situations where there's no microdetails parallel to the sun direction. After a ton of fine tweaking I improved the shadowmap penumbra scale to make it more realistic. Hope someone finds it useful. Oh and before I forget, r_ShadowsAdaptionRangeClamp=0.04 needs to be set else you'll get weird edges with greatly blurred shadows, this is probably because the blur they use is inclusive so it doesn't cause light bleeding, but this makes it annoying to blur more than a certain amount.

Get some heavy lag in Crysis 2 on Ultra or Extreme with a 6970, 4GBs of RAM at 1800MHz and an X6 1055T at 3.7GHz. Is it just me or is the DX11 patch quite buggy? Even on Very high I get the occasional dip.
Nnnnnnggg... It's SO awesome.
I started playing around with the Track View editor last night. :iia:
I think I encountered a bug
When I try to generate a surface texture in Sandbox 3 it just gives me an error message, anyone know what the problem is or have I missed something? Edit: Though this is a fresh install, probably should run the game itself first.
I'm surprised I have not seem more 'modern' weapon mods for Crysis 1, you know M16s M4s, AK-74's I mean well made ones, I've found a weapon pack on Crymod but the models/textures are shit. [editline]2nd July 2011[/editline] There is a good AK-74 I just found after searching again.
The more I play Crysis 2 in it's DX-11-ified state, the more I begin to notice how improved the graphics actually are. And by "Notice", I mean "holy shit why is my framerate dropping all of a sudden?"
Crysis 2 doesn't like me loading save games. I can start missions fine, but if I die and try to load I crash. [editline]2nd July 2011[/editline] Have some DX10 Ultra screens. They're at 800x600 because that is the only res I can run it at Ultra with a smooth frame rate lol. Yeah that's because they use screen space reflections instead of calculating proper realtime reflections, SSR is a hell of a lot cheaper and produces a pretty decent effect.

I wonder why they changed the UI in the released Sandbox 3? The beta version's UI was completely different, and looked a fair bit more usable.
Hnnnnnnggg...
Sorry, I forgot Crysis 2 didn't use DX10.
I can't get over these reflections.
I wonder why they changed the UI in the released Sandbox 3? You can enable it in the preferences, but it just causes the editor to crash. I'm guessing the bugs arose because the SDK Editor has a different codebase to the Beta editor (disabled console-specific functions, etc). I love environment probes:
Quick question, my 5770 is capable of DX11, but on the box of my motherboard it says DX10. Which I'm guessing means that I can only run upto DX10 (I can definitely run DX10, I ran Crysis 1 in DX10). Does this mean there's no point in me getting the DX11 (1.9) patch along with the high-res textures and whatever other shit there is?
In the original Crysis, is there anyway you can skip to a certain level? Reason I'm asking this is because whenever I finish Ascension (The mission where you pilot the VTOL), the game crashes, and I can't play the last mission. I've repeated the mission 3 separate times, but it still crashes once I finish the mission. If anyone could help me with the crashes, and how to fix them, it'd be greatly appreciated.
