In the original Crysis, is there anyway you can skip to a certain level? Reason I'm asking this is because whenever I finish Ascension (The mission where you pilot the VTOL), the game crashes, and I can't play the last mission. I've repeated the mission 3 separate times, but it still crashes once I finish the mission. If anyone could help me with the crashes, and how to fix them, it'd be greatly appreciated.
You can use the 'map' command in the console, eg, 'map island' for the first level. I'm not sure what the folder name of the last level is ('carrier', maybe?). [editline]4th July 2011[/editline]
Quick question, my 5770 is capable of DX11, but on the box of my motherboard it says DX10. Which I'm guessing means that I can only run upto DX10 (I can definitely run DX10, I ran Crysis 1 in DX10). Does this mean there's no point in me getting the DX11 (1.9) patch along with the high-res textures and whatever other shit there is?
Many of the improvements in 1.9 were DX9 too, AFAIK; this includes the high-res textures.

type "map fleet" in the console to load the final level. also con_restricted 0 before that if it blocks your attempt at a straight map load.

From yesterday, but whatever.
Can't wait until I get my New computer. DX11! Gruesome amount of blood when you shoot them, but no decals. Someone needs to work on a mod for that.
Blood is only supported in DX12 :v:

Since we're talking about Sandbox now, I'll ask for help with this again.
Why is the ground turning white when I get close to it in Sandbox? (seen here) I figure it has to do something with getting a high-res texture to be drawn at that level of detail, as the island texture is very low-res, but I have no idea where to go about doing that. The Layer Painter doesn't seem to really have much for that.

Since we're talking about Sandbox now, I'll ask for help with this again.
I'm not sure, but I think it's because you haven't set a material for the terrain layer. Open the Terrain Layers/Textures window, select the layer you want, then open the material editor (without closing the other window), find the material you need (I'd suggest 'plains_dry_grass'), select it, and then go back to the other window and click 'Assign Material'. It sounds complicated, but it's actually pretty easy :P

Assign material never lights up for me. EDIT: Whoops, nevermind. I see how to use the material editor now.

Man, epic. Makes me feel like I just got knocked out and looked up at incoming enemies. Can 5870 max on DX11?
Did anybody else shit bricks when they first saw a Pinger?
Did anybody else shit bricks when they first saw a Pinger?
I called it an AT-ST.

Replaceme sharks are terrifying D:
Does anyone know where prefab buildings are? I can't find a single building.
The buildings that are built for close up player interaction generally are built out of I think they called "arms" assets, bits of modules that you can use to piece together varied buildings. Open up any of the first few levels and you should find how they're constructed.

Radeon HD 5770 x2 crossfire handles 60fps dx11 highres, ultra all with 1280x1024 resolution. Lagged a bit when I tested 1920x1080(fullscreen).
Seems to work for me: http://youtu.be/xmZY1uSakAk?t=56s
Weird, either the guys were not close enough to the wall for blood to splatter or I hit the decal limit somewhere else and their blood splatter vanished.
How'd you get the offline rendering to work? I tried capture_frames 1 and it didn't seem to do anything.
Man, epic. Makes me feel like I just got knocked out and looked up at incoming enemies. Can 5870 max on DX11?
Yes.
Wonder when 5870's won't be able to max out everything.
Wonder when 5870's won't be able to max out everything.
Anything tessellation-based which brings a gtx480 to it's knees will run horribly with ati's shit tessellation perf.
Is there DX10 support?
No, DX9-DX11. They skipped DX10 for some reason.
