I'm going to get this game soon, mainly for MP so I ask now - is this a good idea?
Get it for the SP.
how about modding? is it as lively as crysis 1? I will only get this if there are a lot of mods or if the MP is good. i'm not going to spend $45 on a game I won't play for long [editline]6th July 2011[/editline] SP mods count

Plenty of activity, though. Although, it's almost worth it just for Sandbox 3.
Plying the SP now. And it's just like with Crysis 1. I love fighting the humans. I hate fighting the aliens.

I kept replying the singleplayer just to find better ways to kill the koreans [editline]6th July 2011[/editline] Also thanks guys for the help, i'm probably going to get it now just so I can find out what happens in the singleplayer and so I can download some cool mods in the near future
Cool.

I'd give it some time before you see anything worth downloading.
Can someone that is good with Sandbox help me? I'm making some random physics map but when I play in actual game I can't do these following stuff: 1) Can't pick up objects and NPC. It said Press F to grab but nothing happens. 2) It is day in the editor but keeps being at night in-game, how can I make it stay day forever in-game? 3) When walking around in a big map, i can see holes from far away until I approach them, can I hide them or is there a way to remove it? Thanks!
To answer 2; You might have done something to the time of day part of the editor. You might have pressed the play button that starts the timecycle. If not go to lighting and click Precise lighting instead of dynamic sun.
Does anyone know how to import an object from Google Sketch-Up into the editor?
You can set it to use Ribbon UI, but it crashes the editor and you'll have to edit the registry to fix it.
How exactly would I do this? My editor is now perma-crashed because I tried the Ribbon UI and fixing it would be a good idea. Uninstalling and re-installing doesn't work, so this is probably the only way.

I can't figure out how to add textures onto the terrain, last time i did, the terrain looked like something out of 1995.
I can't figure out how to add textures onto the terrain, last time i did, the terrain looked like something out of 1995.
You have to create a new layer on the Terrain Textures window and then go on the Material Browser, select a Material and on the Terrain Textures window, with the layer you created selected, click on "Assign Material". From what I can gather the texture just sets some kind of color overlay over the material, the material takes care of the actual "texture", etc. If you're doing grass I'd also recommend painting some grass models using the Vegetation Painting feature or whatever it's called.
I don't think C2's MP is that bad. I didn't find it compelling enough to play to level 60 mind you, but it wasn't that bad. It's problems were mostly with the fact that if you've played CoD to death you'll probably find this stale, as it's pretty much CoD with the ability to cloak and ledge grab jump. Including poor hit detection and all.
I enjoyed the Mp a lot.

I can still do the "Save (scary)" and go back on and load it up and paint that one model on.

I still loved the single player, though.
My new computer should be here Friday or Monday, so finally I can try DX11 on Crysis 2! And also use the editor.
I suppose this would be the most relevent place to ask this, but is there any way to get ammo for the US Assault Rifle in Crysis?
I suppose this would be the most relevent place to ask this, but is there any way to get ammo for the US Assault Rifle in Crysis?
I believe it's labeled "SCAR ammo"
Yes, but how do I get it? :v: The KPA don't use the SCAR.
Yes, but how do I get it? :v: The KPA don't use the SCAR.
There are only a few places you can find SCAR ammo in the entire game. You're better off using the SCAR when you can and switching to the FY71 when you're out of ammo.
the mp isnt great but the sp is
Heck no, multiplayer is pretty cool too.
Yes, but how do I get it? :v: The KPA don't use the SCAR.
Thought you meant in the Editor.
If I start up Crysis 2 the textures will automatically be the update ones, right?
There are only a few places you can find SCAR ammo in the entire game. You're better off using the SCAR when you can and switching to the FY71 when you're out of ammo.
I've been using the MPX8 since Assualt where it became plentiful. I kept my SCAR with me until I was told to get the Gauss Rifle, and I had no choice but to leave the SCAR. Oh well, at least I got to leave it on a US VTOL rather than letting it rot in the dirt somewhere :v:
If I start up Crysis 2 the textures will automatically be the update ones, right?
I think it enables the automatically but you're better off making sure they're enabled in the Graphics Settings.
hello, what settings do you think i would be able to run crysis 2 on? My specifications: CPU - Intel Core i5 2300 (4x 2.8ghz) 6mb Cache Power Supply - 600w Corsair PSU Motherboard Asus P8H61 Rev 3 - Intel H61 Express Chipset Memory - 4gb Kingston DDR3 1333mhz Graphics card - 2gb ATI Radeon HD 6950 Thanks
