Just started playing Crysis 2, but what happened to the original storyline? Sure they explain some of the things in prophets flashbacks but still. In the original you were the new super soldiers of the us marines. And in the end prophet flow back to the island. But in Crysis 2 you and prophet are in New York the some army called the C.E.L.L are trying to kill you, the super soldier that will save earth from the aliens. Nothing makes sense if you think back to the original.
There's a comic series that's currently at it's third or fourth issue (out of six) that's apparently connecting Crysis 1 and 2 together. It's decent so far.

The US Government contracted CELL to police New York because they need the army to fight the Ceph invasion elsewhere. CELL was ordered (by CryNet, not US Govt) to target Prophet because he was infected with the Ceph virus and part of their job was to try and prevent the spread of it, and they don't know that he's dead and gave the suit to Alcatraz. Later however they're mostly targeting you out of revenge for killing so many CELL troops, even as the CEO of CryNet tells them to stop because they can't risk losing the nanosuit. As the Ceph invade New York, the US government gets pissed at CELL for not being able to hold them off and for being really unprofessional (violently "sanitizing" citizens, trying to kill Alcatraz after being ordered to stand down etc.) and sends the marines into NY with orders to capture and disarm any CELL they come across during their operations.[/sp] Or something like that. Also this is at least 3 years after the events of Crysis 1/Warhead. [sp]and I think Nomad, Psycho etc. all died somewhere in between[/sp] Also, CryDev is having a week long mapping contest with fabulous prizes right now, and I don't have access to my computer. Fuuuuck.....
Ok, then i understand, but even if Nomad, Psycho and Prophet are gone, shouldn't there be more nanosuit guys anyway?
[sp]I'm guessing since prophet got infected and went rogue they discontinued the production of nanosuits. And prophet would have been the first one to get a suit because he was part of the original squad[/sp]
[sp]I'm guessing since prophet got infected and went rogue they discontinued the production of nanosuits. And prophet would have been the first one to get a suit because he was part of the original squad[/sp]
Well the multiplayer is pretty much Nanosuit Marines vs. Nanosuit CELL, and during a part of the game [sp]you see various nanosuit prototypes on display, including the ones that the CELL and Marines use in multiplayer, which kind of implies that the multiplayer is in fact part of the story. My guess is that CryNet had juuuust managed to produce a working Nanosuit 2 and give it to Prophet before the virus and the Ceph started tearing up New York, where CryNet is based. Alien invasion makes it kinda hard to do mass production of experimental technology...[/sp]
One other thing i just noticed, while marines in crysis 1 used vtols, they now use choppers! WTF
A bitchin' impossible VTOL to control? In the city? Hah good one, Timmy! :v:

[sp]I read somewhere that Nomad and Psycho ended up becoming 'post-human warriors' when their suits fully interfaced with them so... I dunno, maybe they're off heading assaults against the Ceph?[/sp]

http://kotaku.com/5838629/four-years-later-crysis-comes-to-console Looks like im doing what i done for the Orange Box, Buy the Console Verson untill i get a new computer. Then play Crysis the correct way. Looks rather good though.
there are things in crysis 2 that I like more than crysis 1. linear maps worked very well for the story and I enjoyed them, but I still want a sandbox feel that would only come from custom maps
the only thing I liked about Crysis 2 was the ability to cook grenades AKA the bastard toys
the only thing I liked about Crysis 2 was the ability to cook grenades AKA the bastard toys
Crysis 2 could have easily been a BF3 with it's multiplayer, I don't know why they made it so shitty. As for the single player I find it hard playing the same level over and over again, unlike crysis 1.

The game as is on PC with it's AI and level size can not be done on consoles with their small amount of RAM. Then there's the graphics etc, but that's not the point. heh And they're using the "new nano suit controls"? Oh boy here we go again.
you can do Core with your fists, takes time but it can be done.
I'd love to see that. By new Controls they probably mean Quick Keys (which were in the PC version of Crysis 1 BTW, you just had to enable them) It will probably be like Plugging a 360 controller into the PC which Crysis 1 has been able to do since day 1. [editline]9th September 2011[/editline] Oh sweet Look what Crytek gave him. [editline]9th September 2011[/editline] ahh, fuck you youtube, it said it was Added today, but it was dded 3 weeks ago.

They said they updated lighting, which fits, and it's less work overall.
Very true. Also I'm playing Crysis 1 right now with the 360 controller just to try it out. Wow, what were they thinking? The Suit menu is bound to the "left trigger" and Ironsights is the 'right bumper'. You can't even rebind them. (well, without editing a Config or something) I'm sure its different in this release.
i hope power struggle and all the classic maps like mesa will be included in the multiplayer
tbh ive had shit tonnes of people waa at me about crysis 1 coming to console, like Im actually concerned in the slightest, im pleased it'll reach a wider audience, besides; playing it with a joypad will be as fun as cutting off your johnson. the fanboy waaing is doing my head in tho :/
It was made with PC's in mind. It's not like you can use the consolized garbage argument.

No one should buy it.

Pfft, what do you expect on a console? Cutting foilage may remove a portion of the gameplay, but let's face it - your average console person playing Crysis probably isn't going to notice. And besides, they need all the performance boosts they can get if they're porting a game designed for PC hardware - not to mention on hardware several years ahead of its time - onto six-year-old boxes of now very outdated tech. Still, I'd pay $5 for an official version of Crysis 1 ported to the CryEngine 3. Global illumination, whoo.
It's only that scene that is lacking it. Plenty of foliage in other shots:
Crysis 1 really made me into a hella sweet tactical badass super suit ninja. I can kill every Korean with my fists on Delta, no problem.
When thinking back to the first level of Crysis 2, just when you get outside, there is a skyscraper that don't exist, it reminds me of that one they are gonna build on ground zero though, maybe it's the one?
This one? Might be something Crytek designed. If I'm right, then sadly Future New York in MW3 is more accurate then Future New York in Crysis 2, it actually has the new WTC buildings.
