That damn Steampunk skin is amazing, but as soon as I entered the Nether I noticed the Hell blocks are, well... Water texture. Does anyone know a fix? Or does anyone know how to edit the skins FROM the skin-pack?
Wait, shit I build it wrong.
Hold on a sec.
I'll probably end up putting the spawn in the map proper and connected by portal to the construction area, and then portal it to smaller 250^2 biome-specific areas with that huge one attached just as an option if people want the room.
So here's the $64 question- is it worth having that ambient lighting venting in the floor, or not? People can always play on peaceful to avoid monsters spawning, but I don't know if people want constant lighting that's only from below or not, especially when you're probably wanting an idea of what torch placement to use when you make somethingfor real. I don't build often outside of MCEdit to start with, but I could see using both.
Or that's also an option I guess, having one with constant lighting.
Yeah, that seems to be the best option. How are the portals made?
Yeah, that seems to be the best option. How are the portals made?
You can build it with only 10 obsidian for the 'Economy Version' It looks like this:
O=Obsidian
E=Other block of choice
EOOE
O---O
O---O
O---O
EOOE
Then, light the sides of it with the flint+iron thing, and you just walk through it.
Also, whoever designed the DoomCraft texture pack need to be shot. Preferably point blank with a super shotgun. It's complete crap. The tree leaves don't even make a poor attempt at tiling, they just don't period!

4 wide by 6 tall hollow plane of obsidian.
I can't seem to get Biome mod to work without my map not generating. Someone mind whipping up a setting for large smooth hills with a mild temperate climate?
Oh look, my server.

You still can't get it to work either? Did you update the mod, install it, then replace the biomesettings file with the newer version's?
Oh... new version huh. That makes sense.
So are the compass and watch broken for all texture packs chosen through the in-game texture chooser or just the higher-res ones?
So I started up a new world and found this awesome really tall tree. The trunk was 2x2 and it was tall enough that making it into a spiral staircase netted me 66 tree trunk pieces. I was clearing off the top thinking it'd be a great place for a base and I turn around and see this:

My hopes for an awesome tree house base have been sundered by a random lavafall over the hill somewhere.
Anyone got the default texture pack? I accidentally replaced it. . . And I liked the original. . . .
This sucks. I came out of the portal in a cave that has no visible way out.
What do?

You can delete your bin folder to get it to redownload the base one.

I'm using the biome mod (link in OP) with the usebiometrees option set to true.
yeah, i did

Odd. I honestly don't know what the issue is. The only suggestion I could make is to try removing all mods except the biome one and see if that works.

I think I did something wrong
woah what in the world, i deleted the saves in minecraft but they're still there in appdata/roaming/.minecraft/saves
that might just be what's causing my problems
if anyone else is getting biome mod crashes, try deleting the saves from appdata/roaming/.minecraft/saves
Didn't work :saddowns:
Anybody know some good castle reference pictures that look suitable for being built on a mountain?
