I remember when in my server, my system froze up. When I came back, there was like someone cut a perfect, huge square hole in the side of the mountain my tram goes through.
Fixed it with MCedit. Horray for the Brush tool.

Is there any effective way in surviving in Hell without changing difficulty to Peaceful? I teleported and instantly got jumped on by 5-6 ghasts and accidently ran into an army with armed zombies. I did survive, but had half a heart left and 1 point in armor.

Use a bow and arrows or a fishingpole and sword. Using a bow and arrows, I was able to take on 3-4 ghasts at once until I fell in the lava.

Apparently the new update makes them forgive you after a while, but I haven't played yet so I don't know if it will work.

This is my main tunnel. It leads to a HUGE cave I found a dungeon and many of the other items in my inventory. I think the diagonal slope looks really cool. It goes to the very bottom of the map.

The outside of my green house. It is kind of far from my house, but my underground caves lead right to the side of it, for safe travel at night.

The inside of my greenhouse. The water lead straight into the ocean. It worked pretty well, except for when the wheat would fall to far into the ocean.
That's about all I did today. I had a few run ins with death, but all the bread I was making saved my skin. I had to leave a lot of resources behind because I just didn't have enough room for them. I got REALLY lucky with some of my finds. Found 2 diamond deposits and a bunch of gold in my cave. I did not cheat at all for this and the setting is on hard. I'm pretty sure i'm addicted. Hope you enjoyed this. :] I'll post day two if you guys want. Tomorrow I plan on moving west and spent more time building some more advanced architectural buildings.

He meant mods such as autocart and the minimap. AO isn't something he's planning n including in the game but it's not one that messes with the game in a way he dislikes.

Unfortunately due to the way it's coded, the distinction between server and client is not very clear, or so has been said in the thread on the Minecraft forums discussing the morality of modding (:geno:)

Notch is trying to break everything. The update today (yesterday? Damned time zone differences are confusing at 3AM...) was supposed to be a lot of bugfixes for SMP but stuff got screwed up. The most annoying thing on SMP right now is that blocks tend to regenerate 2-3 times or so when you try to mine something or even do so much as pick up a torch.
