I got Minecraft kinda work on my EeePC 701. FPS is low on minimum settings and it gets worse when generating new areas but it was playable.

If you were to add lava ladder killers and a water flow underneath that you could easily turn that into a loot processing plant.
I lost hope into a friend: So we met one day and were playing xbox and stuff, I had my Laptop with me. There's no 'best' texture pack, it's all about preference.
I prefer vanilla but popular ones are things like Painterly or Doku's.
