You can't honestly expect the Wasteland to be full of friendly folks. Bethesda usually have an unspoken rule: if it's out in the wilderness and armed enough to take care of itself, it's almost always there for you to grind on.
So why do you keep whining?
This is a dog which could tear up a couple of raiders if they're close enough, then move on to another one in the space of one turn. It's been established that this isn't any normal dog, attack or otherwise.
So, it's a superdog that can live forever?
'Willing to bet'. That doesn't originate from a source, that's an estimate. Given how a lot of games these days rarely give us much beyond what we're shown in trailers and videos and most of the people this is getting marketed to would rather waste zombies than talk to them, there probably isn't going to be that many more friendly ghouls.
:geno:
Honestly, with all these challenges you're putting towards me, I wouldn't be surprised if you're just doing this because I don't like the idea of Fallout 3. It's like trying to talk sense to a frequenter of Game Trailers.
If you hate the game already, why are you still in this thread?
I'm in this thread because as much as I don't like what Bethesda are doing with Fallout, I can see that it's going to be a good game.
Edit:
If I absolutely hated the game, I wouldn't bother trying to dig up how it works or most of the content.
Edit:
Honestly, the slightest dislike doesn't mean that I hate it. Trying to reason this to anyone who has a mugshot of some power armour in their avatar is going to be impossible but you really should stop getting so defensive about this.
As for the 'whining' it's common sense.
Just do me a favor Fadeaway. When the game comes out, come to the thread and say "I don't like this game" and don't say anything else. I noticed most of Oblivion's problems when people started pointing them out.
Good luck there. Just for that, Fallout 3 is getting extra scrutiny from me for anything good that's gone missing between now and its release.
Edit:
And any serious, glaring problems besides.
What's up with you fanboy
Fadeaway has stuck through the entire previous thread with me, and this one.
He's interested about the game, he isn't going to keep coming in here to trash it. You need to settle down and stop getting defensive, it's honestly like me trying to explain to a 12 year old that there are better games than Halo - even when you come at them with logic they don't even listen.
But anyways, Fadeaway reads lots of reviews and has watched probably all of the gameplay/trailers, so I'd take his opinion on things into consideration.
And as for me, I would say it's awesome that you can get a dog, ghouls seem to be mean and zombie-esque, and that from all the videos, there hasn't been a single friendly survivor.
It isn't like stalker where there are loners cruising around everywhere.
This is where everything got nuked, and the population is drastically reduced. Most of the portion that survived are in vaults, and those that didn't probably have to do anything to survive and won't go to other strangers with cupcakes and tea wanting to be their acquaintance.
To be fair, we've an example of friends outside of the cities, but the example is static and non-combat: the trader / repairer from the leaked photographs.
By the way, has anyone read up on one of the Vaults you happen across? I think it's Vault 106: the twist sounds boring in practice, but one playtester made it in and found it to be a very freaky experience.
Yeah I heard of it. Some hallucinogenic chemical was released into it and made them all nuts. He started getting fucked up vision and HUD because of the chemicals too. The waypoint to the exit kept changing, and he had to call bethesda to ask them how to get out.

Well, it would help if he would first stop telling people about things he himself isn't sure about. "Willing to bet" =/= confirmed information.

He didn't say it was.

No one said he was totally sure.
Willing to bet just means he's confident on what he believes.
Lighten up.

I haven't heard of this, but I can't wait
It involved talking furniture and insane Vaulties. Didn't hear about the waypoint change thing though, that's probably going to trip up a lot of the casual players. :v:

It'll be quite an experience, I hope there are other Vaults to explore, I know there's that one with the door left open, right?
But I don't know of any others.
Vault 12? Other side of the continent. The Vault wiki only has 106 listed alongside 101 so far, but part of the fun of the Vaults is visiting them to try and find out what the social conditionings were for yourself.

oh, I was under the impression that that vault would also be in Fallout 3.
Although you are right, I can't wait to explore the wasteland trying to find other vaults.
I wonder how many Vaults total are in the game. And lol at Vault 106, you'd think tripping balls for who knows how many years would develop yourself an immunity.
I just hope a friendly ghoul can join us,but i don't want a wasteland full of them, anyway,i will save before i enter Vault 106,i want to be sure i won't get lost and stay 3 days trying to get out. :v:
Bethesda made the prepare for the future site a bit more depressing but it has a little piece of new content.

I know for sure Fallout 3 will not disappoint me, even if it's Oblivion with mods. Even then, that's a kick ass mod. :v:
I like all of the Prepare for The Future channel but the last channel pictures of the monsters really made me lol. :v:
I CAN'T WAIT ANYMORE! :excited:
Are there any list of Features you can do in-game?I only know you can do things like in Oblivion, What are the cool features? Except shooting people's head off. :excited:
Surprisingly, they haven't just superimposed Oblivion onto a post-nuclear alternate future timeline. The engine is the same and the melee combat is still as rudimentary, but there's also a lot more to do.
You can:

Drink water from anything including bomb craters and toilets in order to restore health without using stimpaks; can also cause radiation poisoning.

Collect junk and assemble it into weapons or use it for ammunition. Examples of this are the lunchbox mine (uses a lunchbox, bottlecaps and presumably some electronic components) and the Rock-It Launcher (a catapult which launches junk at high speed; velocity, range and damage are all based on the object's weight).

Send Dogmeat to known locations so he can wait for you or order him to bring back supplies.

Hack computer terminals using a minigame where you guess passwords. Hopefully Bethesda know that in areas where you need to gain access to something with a computer, you'll also be able to find the password in the environment.

Pick locks using a bobby pin and screwdriver. Again, there had better be a key for people who decide to make combat-oriented characters.
Edit:
Haha. Awesome, there's mutant bears.
Mutant Bears?
Damnit,i will need more bullets. :v:
And how are we supossed to guess the password?
You get a list of words and have to choose them one at a time. In some of them are the letters of the password; if you get any of the letters, they'll show up in the password field. Once you run out of tries, you then have to pick the right password from what's left based on the letters you have.
Hopefully, there'll be clues which are related to what you're doing.

I'm not sure I understand this, kind of like Hangman?
I'm not sure I understand this, kind of like Hangman?
Yes, only you can't pick out individual letters; instead, you pick words which might contain some of the same letters as the password.
Personally, I don't like this system. It makes it less a test of your character's skill than yours and I really liked going in depth with the working computer terminals in the first two games. Anyone else remember talking to the Enclave guy?
Sweet! If you click on the tenth (seven is missing so ninth) video at the end you get to go through the creatures.

Neither, is there any actual skill involved, or is it just a guessing game?
By character skill, I mean the level for it. Seeing as you can't attempt stronger locks without a good lockpicking skill, the odds are that you won't be able to access some terminals without a decent Science skill.
Edit:
But essentially, it's just a guessing game. I suppose your skill and the difficulty of the terminal determines things like how many guesses you get or how many words you have to pick from.
