What is a faux? :3:
Wait you guys keep talking about mods, does the PS3 version have mods or something or are you referring to the PC one?
What is a faux? :3:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=define%3Afaux French for "false"; a term to describe something that is simulated. # Faux is a French word used to describe something made to resemble something else. Yay, I got the preorder freebies. Now I can listen to "I don't want to set the world on fire." whenever. And the poster and DVD case is nice.

I just asked for it. In store. If you got it online, you probably gonna have to wait.
Damn, I can't wait for the release date. It'll be so awesome.
Oh, man. I'm out of blog posts, previews, and PA comics. Now the reality is telling me again that I NEED This game :(
Some new / old information: Rivet City is in, confirmed by a screenshot and one of IGN's playtests. You get one mission to retrive the Declaration of Independence. There's any number of ways I can imagine for that to pan out, even a very good neutral one (though I doubt Bethesda have considered it). You can take a mission from Tenpenny Towers to exterminate ghouls. I really hope you can't just use this to get a suite without dealing with the Power of the Atom.
Some new / old information: You get one mission to retrive the Declaration of Independence.
Most epic quest ever? Until you find out *someone* lights it cough.
Oh yeah, lighter + paper = anarchy!
My thoughts exactly. The way I see it, it's to the Wasteland factions what proof of the true cross would be to any fundamentalist Christian church: destroying it would be the neutral option as it would prevent people like the Enclave from using it as propaganda while also keeping it out of the hands of their more radical opposition.
...even a very good neutral one (though I doubt Bethesda have considered it).
Tell it, so we can see if they got even close when the game gets released. Edit: Imagine coming to get it while using the flamethrower: "Okay, that was the last of those guys. Now where is the Declaration? I can only see a pile of ash..."
Tell it, so we can see if they got even close when the game gets released.
The Declaration is particularly symbolic (although it's arguable that most of that symbolism might have disappeared over the war) and would probably do wonders for any cause for uniting the Wastes under one faction or simply as a bargaining chip. My idea is that destroying it would prevent it from falling into the hands of an apparently 'good' faction (who would probably use it as some kind of justification for controlling the Capitol wasteland) or an inherently evil one like the Enclave (who would do the same). It's the neutral option because giving it to a good or evil faction would cause imbalance. By destroying it, neither side gets an edge, keeping the status quo without having to exterminate both sides or do nothing.

Edit: Imagine coming to get it while using the flamethrower: "Okay, that was the last of those guys. Now where is the Declaration? EDIT: I found it: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_weapons
Also in the IGN weapons feature if you want to see it in action. Edit: @ Fadeaway, exactly what I was thinking, or you might be tasked to hide it for future generations :P
I'm gonna play as Butcher Pete, then chop up all the women's meat. Then blame it all on the song.
I can't wait for the mods I want to drop some Dynamite in a kids pocket so bad.
Need...To...Get...It...Now...
You guys remember the garden gnome in EP2 who got sent out in space? Well seems like he ended up back on earth after the nuclear war.
Cool, a female character. Edit: Or knowing Bethesda's record with character modelling, an androgynous man.
I just finished Fallout 1 again. :3: Installing Fallout 2 as we speak.
Hah. Bethesda does do quite a few homages in its games when they can. If there's an achievement with the Gnome, then I will call this an homage. If there isn't, then it's a funny easter egg. Either way, sharp eye!
Here's what I really want to see proven over houses. First, whether or not they've fixed the floaty physics system so you can place objects without them toppling over. Secondly, I'd like to know if I can safely store my stuff without coming home and finding it all having disappeared or replaced with junk.
I would like to know that as well. If I find a decent place to make a stash then I expect it to be at least moderately safe over long durations and completely safe for the next hour or so. I guess they could account for this by giving areas traffic values and then giving anything you drop a rising percentage over time to be lifted. If they do it that way, I'm hoping for a sharp break between obviously hard-to-reach areas and good niches in common areas. If we actually can own a shack some place, or at least take one over and lock it up, then I would expect my loot to persist for a very long time; if not forever. Percentages should rise according to how many items/sum value you store in your dwelling. Maybe rising depending on how often you visit your stash as well. And the object-interaction system needs to be 1:1 instead of the ease-in and ease-out 'thrust'. That and the fact that objects are affected by gravity when you hold them; not necessarily a bad thing, but I'd like to defeat gravity with a button. Failing that, having a button which changes movement to rotation. Doing things that way just might fix that little frustrating quirk. Can't believe we're two days away now.
Personally, I'd like to have my own home away from home in Fallout 3: a mini-vault in the side of a little hill to combat character homesickness. By the way, two days away from what? Edit: I've had an idea for an upgrade system. Part of it involves being able to modify any particular clothing you find around the Wasteland which you like to be useful in some way other than looks (i.e. ask someone to fit it with pockets / armour plates for looting / combat) and more specific improvements for other pieces of armour (e.g. a gas mask for Combat Armour to improve environmental resistance).
