Orgasmic.

The Brotherhood of Steel dudes in the heavy army remind me of Stormtroopers.
:D
looks great, can't wait
This is starting to be a 'be careful what you wish for' experience. Burke can be killed, yet not Sentinel Lyons, which isn't playing much to my hopes that you can oppose Bethesda's Brotherhood if you want to.
Well what do you think would happen if you, say, shot every power armour donning person in the area?
Well what do you think would happen if you, say, shot every power armour donning person in the area?
That would be the Enclave (minus essentials), the Brotherhood of Steel (minus essentials), the purely mythical and so far non-existent 'Outcasts' (minus essentials who may or may not exist) all gone.
In other words, just about half the Capitol's population.
hey someguest can you make a video of the shishkabob?
hey someguest can you make a video of the shishkabob?
What?
He wants you to make a video about the flaming sword.
Funny thing is, so am I. After the Super Duper Mart and out in the Wastes, the ammo is starting to run dry. Guess Bethesda aren't as indulgent as I thought.
Good thing I'm mostly fighting mutants, because it means I can actually put my melee weapons to good use.
Bethesda even said they are making ammo hard to come by.
They don't want you to just use guns. I mean i, personally, can't wait to get a nail bat and relinquish it's sharp-blunt fury on someones head.
I have never been able to use a melee weapon. Everything has some sort of ranged attack that rapes my face. And the Super Mutants which are all over the fucking place carry rifles and miniguns. What the fuck!
So, care to give us a first impression of the game.

Good luck trying that. Making ammo scarce may not necessarily mean that they want you to use guns, but giving nearly every other enemy in the game a ranged attack usually does. The fact that you'll find more enemies using guns than melee options typically forces you to do the same.

God that interviewer is so fucking dumb.
"Will you ever meet your father?"
Yeah, ruin the whole game for us.

I'm guessing that sneaking up on them helps.
I'm guessing that sneaking up on them helps.
Now we're back to the problem of how Marksman worked in Oblivion: outside of stealth, it was nearly useless in a fight because of how erratically your enemies moved (not to mention the enemy's consistently inhuman abilities of predicting your every move compared to your lack thereof). Melee and ranged have definitely switched places since Oblivion, which doesn't sit well with me considering that the previous Fallouts had the decency to make melee both a viable and important part of fighting.
EDIT:
Honestly, no developer ever seems to be able to get the balance right. People try to white knight the developers' every decision by claiming they've fixed problems (e.g. archery being impractical outside of stealth) when the truth is, they've overstepped and made some new ones (e.g. made ranged fighting dominant while hobbling melee).
I have never been able to use a melee weapon. Everything has some sort of ranged attack that rapes my face. And the Super Mutants which are all over the fucking place carry rifles and miniguns. What the fuck!
Then since they're everywhere, when you kill them, shouldn't you be able to take their guns and ammo?
I'd have thought that the words Super Mutant and miniguns usually means that it's much easier said than done.
Wait a minute you guys who are pirating this game are you playing it on 360 or PC?
360. there isn't a pc leak and there is no 360 emulators, and won't be for a LONG time.
Then since they're everywhere, when you kill them, shouldn't you be able to take their guns and ammo?
Oddly when creatures are shooting at you they seem to have unlimited ammo but when I get to their corpses they only have 4-5 bullets left.
There is an occasion where the enemy will switch to melee and try to smash your face in but it hardly ever happens. If I shoot their arms up they will drop their guns and try to punch you in the face but most of the time they will run back and pick up their gun.

Damn, I was kinda hoping them to surrender. Oh well.

Hey, are snipers useless in the game?
About the skill system. It seems so far very balanced depending on your play preference. If you prefer to sneak, that's great. If you like to blow shit up, awesome.
Sneaking is a very useful skill in this game. Sneaking means your first hit while hidden is a critical hit, and if it's a headshot or even torso then it's usually a 1 hit kill even on very hard enemies.
Repair is also very good to have because it allows you to repair all the guns you find which are usually in shit condition.
Medicine is good because your stimpacks and other stuff heals for alot more.
Science is awesome because you use less resources to create weapons and you can hack into security terminals to activate guard robots or turrets to shoot the enemy.
Unarmed sucks I don't like it, too hard to get into close combat and the damage usually blows.
Melee is good because the reach is way longer than unarmed. It's usually when fighting zombies and other mutants that don't have long range attacks. It helps conserve ammo. Melee weapons do a shit load of damage too and it's fun to watch your sledgehammer pop someones head open in slow motion.
Explosives is a decent skill but not worth putting too much into unless you want to use the nuke launcher which I recommend not shooting indoors because you will probably hurt yourself more than the enemy. Although it is good for defusing land mines which are a pain in the ass if you don't see them.
Big Guns is an alright skill if you plan on using the minigun or other big ass weapons like the nuke launcher. But it's pretty useless over all.
Small Guns is probably the best skill to use because pistols, rifles and such are plentiful.
There are alot of other skills but those are the main ones.
And there's also ALOT of perks which do amazing things. I'm too low level to get the good ones but there is alot of fun ones in there.

Enemies never surrender but the will run away scared sometimes.
Snipers are awesome but hard to find. I managed to get one but the ammo is ridiculous rare.
Oh god I just burst into laughter
imagine this as a conversation between two residents of a city in FO3
"I just saw a Mirelurk the other day. Horrible creatures."
Hey, are snipers useless in the game?
Quite the opposite. I've found that more or less settling the crosshairs on a distant enemy usually constitutes a kill. There seems to be some degree of auto aim judging by some of the headshots I've made.
Is laser weapons a good skill?
"I just saw a Mirelurk the other day. Horrible creatures."
The conversations are alot better in the game. They actually sound like they are having a real conversation. Although it's funny as shit when the guards talk to each other because all the guards of the cities have the same voice. You know the one from Oblivion.
"STOP RIGHT THERE YOU'RE VIOLATING THE LAW!"
Occasionally you will get the stupid.
"Hello"
"How are you doing?"
"I got to go."
"Bye"
Edit:
Is laser weapons a good skill?
I did start with some laser skill but after realizing theres no ammo for the damn thing I gave up. Maybe later in the game I will put some more points into it.
Is laser weapons a good skill?
Tried it (found plenty of energy cells and a couple of laser pistols in the Super Duper Mart). It's the best of both worlds from Big and Small Guns: high power combined with low weight. Still, Small Guns is the best of the ranged weaponry skills to tag: Big Guns are either expensive or require you to set about the nigh on impossible task of taking them from the cold, dead hands of particularly powerful enemies. The same can be said for Energy Weapons.

Good to hear, atleast they didn't screw everything up. I kinda dislike reading Fadeaway's replies, he practically never finds anything good in this game.
Most of that was pre-release. Having gotten into it, I can safely say that Bethesda haven't fucked up. I still don't like what they've done with the Fallout series and what they intend to do though. Besides being actively 'encouraged' to use guns nearly all the time, it feels like Bethesda have fixed some of Oblivion's old problems and created a host of new ones.

Well, if it isn't next to impossible to find, I think it's a great way to balance the game. They can give you a badass weapon right from the start, but you won't be able to get a lot of ammo for it.

Heh, and then Dogmeat can go chase them :3:

You can get the sniper very early in the game. I got one from a quest in Megaton which was pretty hard with the gear setup I had at the time. Unfourtanetly it only came with about 20 shots. I only use it for really hard to kill guys right now. Oh and heres the annoying part. It's in pretty bad condition and in order to repair guns you have to have a duplicate of that gun.
How's this strategy, could it work?
1. Sneak up on a super mutant
2. Shoot him in the gun with VATS or manual
3. Pick up the highly powered weapon
4. Run away like a little girl
SomeGuest, are you going to stream again?
