Fallout 3 Megathread! Only post here for any reason! - Games

I'm going to get this because it looks like fun and I will most likely play it often. You all needed to know that.

To me it looks like a flamethrower with a sword stuck on the front. Which doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I've been tracking this game somewhat, but I'm not too entirely hyped about it. I know unfortunately this game's going to have the Fallout purists making noise on one end, then the Oblivion haters on another, and it'll be ugly with the community reactions. The gameplay itself looks nice, but I hope it'll come across with an emphasis on stat-building and other RP elements, rather than seeming like more of an action-adventure game. I do like the setting being in Washington DC... I wonder if I could recognize any of the roadways and such, I've been there before, but I don't think Beth'll go that deep into it.

You guys see the new PAX gameplay? It's awesome... the talking sequences look much more realistic from Oblivion.

I would assume that this sword is made out of several things. A sword. Something sticky that will stay on the sword and ignite when needed. A ignition(?) hooked next to the sticky material. A pipe with a valve attached that leads to a gas container, the valve to control how much gas is released at a time. Finally, the gas container itself, which will go on the back. So finally, you turn the valve, the gas is released onto the sticky substance, the ignition is ignited, and the sword is now on fire. I would ASSUME that's how it would work.

It's a sword with the same principle of a flamethrower in it - The fuel + catalyst, the trigger, etc. But the dispersion is not a stream of burning fuel but a light spray on the sword, igniting it. Just look closer and you'll see I'm right. The puff of steam and the general design of the gun makes me think it's steam powered, at least. (Maybe there's a place to shovel coal in, I dunno :v:)

It's the steam train whistle. Likewise, I doubt that the Fat Man is really powered by a microwave oven, but it makes the sound when a round gets loaded. Either way, the Railroader's steam train whistle is going to be even more annoying than the microwave ding. At least with the Fat Man, ammo will be rare and thus the sound for loading it isn't going to wear thin.
