I love old music.
Me too. The fact that we'll be able to hear tracks from the intros (and in Fallout's case, outro) of the Fallout games and many more besides is one of the reasons I'm going to buy this.
I'm going to join the Brotherhood of Steel.

They're something I'm still not sure about. As a die-hard fan of the first games, I really want to join the Outcasts - who broke off from the Capitol Brotherhood which became knights of the wasteland instead of searching for technology as per their orders -, if only because they stand for what the Brotherhood was on the West Coast.
I'd like to join a Brotherhood that protects humanity and kills mutants.

Then the Capitol Brotherhood is available. In fact, you get roped in very early on by a squad of them.
Hurray.
hey does anyone know if the collectors edition is available for the pc? I've checked amazon and it's not listed, only the xbox360 and the ps3's one

Yes...it is...why wouldn't it be?
The Ink Spots are known in certain gaming circles for their song "Maybe", which was used as the opening and closing music of the game Fallout after the developers failed to acquire a license for "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire". The song fit well with the underlying themes of the game, as well as echoing the feelings the player character has after the ending. Bethesda Softworks, the new developers, have since gained a license for "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire", as evidenced by the trailer for Fallout 3.
Wow. Bethesda is awesome.

I still like the super-duper mart theme :v:
None of the themes beat the bioshock one. Any other news so far on the game?

As usual, only the same thing told from a very slightly different angle.
Wow. Bethesda is awesome.
That's disputable, but I still think it's impressive that they've been going around acquiring the licenses for tracks from the previous games and other assorted 40s - 50s music.
Anyone know where I can get fallout 1 and 2, in canada, without having to buy it online
Man, it's going to be funny if the Potomac River has mutants swimming in it.

I shouldn't have to remind you all that Dogmeat is a killing machine, bred for killing. Kind of like the Killer Rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail: you don't think it's possible, but at the end of the day, there's going to be numerous dead raiders, on the ground, with their arms and legs several metres away from each other, with Dogmeat trotting back to your side like nothing happened.
Also, I recall reading that you can send him out to bring you stuff like ammo, food and healing items. You lose him as a combat option for awhile, but he might come back with some goodies.
I never considered that Dogmeat would be combat specific character in FO3. He just sounds like such a NPC with many uses that provide another layer of atmosphere many players will want to keep throughout the game, yet Bethesda calls it realistic to have him killable and irreplaceable when apparently you get "John Everyman is unconscious after experiencing a hailstorm of bullets" due to Bethesda's Essential NPC system.
Hey, I don't mind if he's killable, as long as Bethesda makes it so that he isn't ridiculously easy to kill. A decent amount of HP and a possible choice to make it so not all enemies focus on him all the time (Combat Control option like in FO2). That way it doesn't become so much of a chore to keep him alive that it eventually becomes easier to let sleeping dogs lie.
EDIT
Oh wow, ryno was right. That pun was awful.
That last pun was horrible.

I know you said not online, but a great online place is Good Old Games, you can buy Fallout 1 for $5.99, get Fallout 2 free, and then download them however many times you want, on any number of computers, without any of that security crap. You also get both manuals, soundtracks, and wallpapers.

What pun?
Ouch, that one slipped by and I didn't even notice it :downs:

I hope I get accepted to early access. :)
I have yet to see a store that actually sells the old Fallouts. Pretty sure the only way to get them is online like Achilles said or :yarr:

i don't know where you live, but here in the UK, GAME sells a Fallout pack with Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics for about £6 (approx. $12)
I live in a backwater town near Denver Colorado, so it's not surprising I can't find Fallout in my area. Although I have looked statewide for some Fallout Tactics, I ended up having to purchase it off of ebay.
Here in Brazil,i walk outside my house and i already see stores selling Fallout 1 and 2,Grim Fandango, and games like that. :3:
Fuck yeah, buy all three of them. They're both epic games.
I already bought Grim Fandango.
Playing right now, stuck at the Petrified Florest on the tree with that mechanic thing.

Was I right? That pun, whilst unintentional, makes me cringe.
