My dad spends his time on the pc looking at his photos and fiddling with them in Photoshop. He thinks games "kill" your computer. He sometimes sees me playing TF2 but most of the time I'm doing other stuff. Whenever he walks by he always says "Hey why don't you stop playing that violent game and do something actually more constructive on that PC, if at all". Problem is he does even when I'm not playing.
My old man used to play Super Mario on SNES. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside seeing him sitting on the floor with his legs crossed and enjoying the game like a child would. Ah, those were the days.
My dad plays minesweeper.
My Dad gave me an Amiga, on which he used to game. Legacy, bitches.
My dad only likes WWII games, like COD 2, he plays that all the time.
My dad always tells me how much he played on the Commodore 64, and that "Those games were the best", then resists to try anything new, because he "grew out of it".
My dad plays Duck Hunt
My dad has over 800 hours of TF2, and also plays BC2. (PC)
My dad plays bfbc2(pc) and tries to make me play the game. Though I am bored of first person shooters, not TF2. TF2 is more like GMod than any other there is.
My dad loves Assassins Creed 2 on my PS3. I showed him how to play one day during the holiday, and he pretty much played it everyday, all day for the next few days :v: He's 52 as well.
you guys got lucky, my dad plays runescape, cod:mw2, halo 3/reach, and this: :smithicide:
My dad hates videogames. In fact he's actually uninstalled Steam on this computer about 30 or so times so far. True story.
My dad has a Wii at home, and he used to play plenty of games, especially racing games and platformers (he beat Crash Bandicoot and the original 2 Sonic games) in the 8-bit - Playstation days. His favorite game was and is Joust. Getting him to play an FPS (especially TF2) at this point doesn't seem possible. I have a friend whose parents would rather him do drugs than play video games, it's sad.
my dad is older than me
I love these Family gamer topics. :D Dad introduced me to proper gaming really, I used to watch him play Half Life 1. Then when Half Life 2 came out, I watched him play it aswell. He let me play it when he was done, saw how much I enjoyed it and gave me the steam account. :) Still using it today. Shame he doesn't play much anymore, but when he does its always single player games; Crysis, STALKER, Farcry etc.
Update: Was rather weird to be honest. Just after this topic, I go downstairs where my dad is watching TV, and the COD: Blackops advert comes on. He watchs it and is like; Dad: That looks good. Me: Yeah, I'm going to get it, so is [brother]. Dad: Is that the same series I used to play? Me: Yeah, you played the original COD. Dad: Oh right. Will it be difficult, like where you have to send in your men? (( This is in reference to Operation: Flashpoint, the latest one. He didn't like that as he had to control his soldiers, he just wants to shoot shit. xD)) Me: Nope. Dad: Cool, I'll pre-order it tomorrow. D'aaw.
My dad's never home that long, he'd probably never have the time to play.
My dad loves games. Thing is his computer is old now with no space and hes always busy at work, so he cant play.
I wish my dad would play TF2, all he plays anymore is WoW :v:
Same here He doesn't know how to aim :saddowns:
My dad tells me to stop wasting so much of my time looking at this stupid screen. :frown:
My dad plays Angry Birds and got me into Google Android community
My Dad only once played Nintendogs on my DS a few years back. He permitted me to get a Steam account, and he has his own, but he never uses it as far as I can tell. Sometimes he watches me play my games though, and he shows occasional interest.
Yeah, my dad used to play games until he was daignosed with MS. Now all he can do is watch... :smith:
I wish my Dad would play video games at all. :sigh:
Same here. Mine is too old fashioned for that. But he does enjoy technology, just not games.
My dad used to play Medal of Honor and I would watch, when I was really young. One day I begged him if I could have a turn and that's pretty much how I got into gaming/shooters.
My dad use to play games with me. Usually he's too busy with work now and only has time to play Quake 3 when my friends come over.
I've got a gf that plays HL2 and a 12 year old sister that plays L4D (her favorite character is Coach) and it really is hilarious, good for you OP
My dad plays DOD:S all the time
My grandfather came in my room while he was out of the nursing home while I was playing GMod. He was all "oh wow! you can build stuff!" I set him up a Steam account, and got him a computer that plays GMod decently. He loves it :buddy:

My dad plays those building defense games like Red Alert. FPS games make him sick, literally.
