My dad knows shit about games, but thankfully my mom loves gaming and got me into the gaming world at such a young age
Gamer dads are awesome. I used to play Battlefield 1942 (mostly the Desert Combat mod) and Counter-Strike with him. His clan actually owned the worldwide most popular Battlefield server. Was p cool. Unfortunately he doesn't really play games anymore.
My dad doesn't know how to use a computer. He just drinks a lot of alcohol instead.
On a similar note I cooped through all of Diablo II and Quake 2 with my parents. Shit was cash, although my mum is fuckin terrible at quake: "Where are you going! Stop taking all the ammo! Whats going on! Why am I dead!"
My dad hasn't played any computer games in a while, I should make him replay Far Cry again, it was good fun to watch him freak out when the mutants started to show up, "NO! FUCK THAT JUMPY BUGGER"
ITT: Games your dad plays.
my dad play alot of adventure games like LoZ, but plays a FPS from time to time. i remember when i first got my N64 we hooked it up and played goldeneye with some bros.
My dad used to play Mario Kart Double Dash with me as Wario and Waluigi and kick my ass sometimes... Other then that, the only PC game he's ever played was some sort of Deer hunting game on our old Win. 98 PC. (I think it was 98) I think we've since then lost the disc. As with most of our game CDs. I miss playing that one space golf game thing... And sometimes my mom, dad, and I will play Mario Kart Wii together. ... But honestly we all suck at it. Edit: Also it was my brother (who is almost 10 years older then me, mind you) who got me into video games. I grew up on Super Mario 64, Starfox 64, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, 1080 Snowboarding, Mario Kart 64, and 007 Goldeneye. Some Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 at times, as well. It was obvious that one of the only things I had in my early years was my brother's old N64...
Ask him to make an account on Facepunch
Don't do it it will be this all over again: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/870270-Should-I-buy-a-wig
My dad use to play Myst and I would watch him play when I was 2 years old on Mac OS. I think that's the reason I even stared gaming after he taught how to play, been a gamer since age 2.
my dad and I used to play ace combat all the time, but I started to kick his ass he got so butthurt about it he hasn't touched a game since
I wish my dad would play GAMES again. He has a gaming computer and all he ever plays now is Spider Solitaire. 'bout 10 years ago he played Medal Of Honor like a pro and even won a local championship. Well shit.
The only video game my father really played was Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii. He also really enjoyed Lego Batman on the Xbox 360... Though he hates shooters, but I wonder if he would play Portal.
My mom plays farmville :(
My dad hates videogames, thinks violent video games are the downfall of society and gambled all of my mother's money away before divorce. On a more negative note, my mother is addicted to Scarab Solitare on Facebook.
My dad is also a gamer, in fact he got me into gaming in the first place. He mainly plays console games, Halo, Call of Duty, Gears of War, Rock Band. He occasionally plays L4D2 on PC, but whenever I talk about TF2 he says "Oh, that dumbass game"
I got my grandmother into Portal.
My dad plays video games, Only singleplayer(He's palyed beaten and enjoyed: HL2 series, Fallout 3, STALKER series, Tomb Raider, alot of RTSs, like Fallout.) he doesnt like to depend on other people. The only online/ multiplayer game he plays and likes is LOTRO, he usualy plays by himself, or with my brother and I for fellowship quests.
Recently, I`ve been letting my Father use my Steam account to play games like Peggle and Plants vs. Zombies. I came home from school today and started playing TF2 as usual. He walked over and asked if He could see the point of the game. After explaining different aspects of gamemodes and maps like 2Fort and Gravelpit, He started to understand what was going on. He`s starting to play it himself now, He set himself up a new steam account and is playing an extra version of TF2 I had on it. His favorite class is the Heavy, and he was amazed when he unlocked the Sandvich. I also kind of realized that he looks like the Heavy.
My dad plays TF2 too. Maybe our dad's can add eachother. But note: MY DAD CAN BEAT UP YOUR DAD
My dad only plays sports games, I got him to play Halo 2 for a game or two, but he gave up.
My dad used to be the typical in your face gamer. He'd beat you an brag and brag. That was when I was six. Since then I've not only gotten better, but my hands have grown larger and I can hit the back buttons with ease. He doesn't play video games anymore. Also, my mom never got into video-games besides her old Atari when she was younger, but there was this one game me and her played when I was about 5. We still had a windows 98 computer despite the fact windows 2000 was taking over. I remember earlier today I asked her if she remembered playing a game relating to Legos, (Lego Island) but I couldn't remember the name. 10 years later and she still remembers it. I have very many cherished memories with that game.
My dad plays either Bad company 2 or Modern warfare 2 about 2 times a week. He can only really play FPS games and strategy games. (This is on the PC by the way, he can't use the controllers on consoles)
My dad hates anything having to do with technology made within the last 50 years... We don't really share much in common..
I got my grandmother into Portal.
The funny thing is I'm not joking. On the night Portal 2 comes out, she's going to sit outside GameStop until they open the next morning. (and I'm going with her)

I don't have a dad, but my mom has been playing video games for a while. She was the first person on her block to play, and beat A Link to the Past :v:

My dad used to play games. I used to have a toy gun and watch him play Doom and the Half life series, and shoot at the enemies on screen. He got me started playing FPS games when I was at a Frys electronics and the demo computer was running the first level of Half life 2. That same day I got my Steam account and started playing Half life 2. Went back and played the original. He would some times play multi-player with me on Battlefield games to. But now his job as a Freelance animator has pulled him away from free time and he spends all day in his office working :frown: he never has an free time except at night when he watches TV.
My dad plays Quake III and Battlefield 1942 with nearly frighteningly skill. Seriously, he's god damn good with the railgun. Plus, since he's a chemistry professor, he gets to make his students play Quake against him. I remember one of his students complaining that he burned out her laptop's graphics card by having her play Quake. :v:
My dad calls TF2 "that game where you hit people with the wrench"...
