My dad plays all sorts of games, but mainly World of Warcraft.
I also think he programs, seeing as how he got me into programming and C++, and I even saw small pocket book about programming in C++.
I remember when I saw him playing Borderlands. I said it looked pretty cool, and he bought it for me a couple days later. I got it set up and he tried to make it so we could play LAN, but we never could get it to work :frown:
My dad only plays these strategy games and my mother plays these "Item hidden in the background games" (dont know the name anymore) However, I found a Call of Duty CD lying on the desk of my father. :colbert:
My dad used to play games. I used to have a toy gun and watch him play Doom and the Half life series, and shoot at the enemies on screen. He got me started playing FPS games when I was at a Frys electronics and the demo computer was running the first level of Half life 2. That same day I got my Steam account and started playing Half life 2. Went back and played the original. He would some times play multi-player with me on Battlefield games to.
But now his job as a Freelance animator has pulled him away from free time and he spends all day in his office working :frown: he never has an free time except at night when he watches TV.
A bit of an update but I remembered the first game I played. The original Age of Mythology. I loved that game and its expansion. I remember watching my dad play it, I loved watching him play games like the Original Halo game on the PC. Oh man one time he was playing through the last level, he went into a room looking for supplies. He found none but as he turned around to walk out the door this enemy was right in his face, not attacking him, but just staring. My dad freaked out and fell backwards in his chair, I almost died laughing. :gbsmith:
my dad plays every game in the house. whether its TF2, mass effect 2 (he frigging loves this game. every day hes playing it), force unleashed 2, half-life....2, css.
he brought me into valve, quake, and most notably unreal tournament.
i owe him for my life of gaming. hes awesome
My dad gets dizzy from fps games.
Me and my dad played the fuck out of CoD 1, He wanted CoD 2 to come out, but he died 2 years before it came out
:frown:
My dad plays Fallout 3, Mass Effect 1-2, needless to say he likes rpg's.
My father is a bastard. The sooner this goddamn divorce gets done, the better.
The only game my dad ever played was Super Mario Bros...
The year it came out.
My dad as well. Him and a friend of his played through the entire game one night. Since that night my dad has never played another video game.
My dad used to play Duke Nukem 3D long time ago.
Well now he plays travian.
My dad use to play flight sims on our old computer, eventually making his way to dogfighting sims. Had the joystick and everything.
Tried getting him into Mechwarrior 3 but he didn't care for it much.
Haven't seen him touch a game in 8 years until one day he started playing some budget hunting game he got for free somewhere.
My dad used to play Duke Nukem 3D long time ago.

Same here.
Now he says , that he will not play videogames , because he will get "sucked in "
My dads the whole reason I got into gaming. He's the one who got me a Nintendo 64 and PS2. 2 days after HL2 released he made a STEAM account and bought HL2, and we played it and beat it. He also got me into DOOM, Unreal Tournament games and Return to Castle Wolfenstein and an older Call Of Duty game (probably the first or second one). He gave me his STEAM account I continue to use today. He sadly passed away from a major heart attack back in 2007. RIP dad :(.
My dad died from a heart attack too.
I told this fat fuck to go see the doctor because he was smoking too much but NOOOO :smith:
My dad thinks all video games are about teaching all kids to have sex, use drugs, shoot random civilians, hit pregnant people with baseball bats, and run over packs of boy scouts on motorcycles for points.
He thinks I should play Pong.
Nice.. a heavy.
Remember OP, tell your father the fists are way to go, if he ever for his amazement stumbles across a pair of boxing gloves. And if your father is half the man The Heavy is, you don't even need to tell him
My mom and dad used to like this really gory game on the Dreamcast. They would stay up till like 3AM to play it. I don't remember the name though, someone help me. It was a 2vs2 fighting game on the Dreamcast, the stage was some kind of cellar/cage, and it had some creepy ass characters.
Nvm, I found it, it's Thrill Kill and its for the PSX
My dad showed me Unreal Tournament and Quake when I was a kid. He still occasionally plays Unreal Tournament 3.
My dad bought HL2 for me, and Counter-Strike as well. He briefly played them, but now he only plays MW2, and rarely at that. I feel sorry for him because he's so bad. :frown:
My dad doesnt like 3D games, he prefers Arcade games. Hes amazing at Asteroids, but when I showed him Medal of Honor he got dizzy and stopped playing.
My dad beat Half-Life, Blue Shift, Opposing Force, HL2, Ep1, and Ep2. :smug:
My dad showed me my first multiplayer shooter, vietcong. And thats the only game he plays, but not alot.
OP's dad likes hats.
My dad played Medal of Honor Allied Assault once, but i never really got into it. It all began with Mario... Funny how i went from Mario and Sonic to TF2 and Killing Floor.
(I was about to say "My dad watches porn" but feh)
UPDATE
He got a pare of the Heavy`s boxing gloves. He put on his actual pair of red boxing gloves and tried using the keyboard. :wtc:
Why is no one posting.
this thread makes me feel all fuzzy and mushy inside :frogbon:
Oh dear, my parents just came into my room as I was reading a comment someone posted on one of my youtube Amnesia videos. They noted the name and left, half an hour later they came back in telling me they weren't comfortable with me playing such horrible games. I suddenly wish my parents were gamers a bit more, or at least a bit more accepting.

Adoraheavy avatars are fitting for every short story, no matter what emotion.
That's very nice of you to show your Dad how to play. My Dad started my gaming habits, I used to watched him play Half-Life, and he'd let me play it when my Mum wasn't home.
I recently showed him how to play Left 4 Dead. It felt so nostalgic to play together, and ironic that this time, I was the teacher.
