Have you ever had to think on your feet with a time limit and if you don't make it you die? Yea that's this game. But it gives you a shit load of lives so...that makes up for it.
would you say super meat boy hard? i really liked that game.
I actually want to try this... my elder brother says it's incredible, but fuck, kids running around
I assume it's all sexy time and mature themes

tried the demo
seemed hella dumb
just a puzzle game with crappy dating sim stuff in between the actual game parts

"I didn't like the demo. The review where Jeff said it's not for people who don't like anime or puzzle games is a good review".
What an awful post.

It's amazing how much wrong someone could fit in such little amount of words.
jeff is always trollin the game industry
ratin twilight princess a 85 which caused all the nintendo fanboys to go batshit, kane and lynch conspiracy, etc.
Jeff's awesome. But I don't know why he'd review this if he doesn't like puzzle games or is bothered by anime stuff.
I bought the PS3 version yesterday.
My girlfriend next to me is playing the second level on hard difficulty right now. She's pulling her hair out as the hard mode is like having several levels in a level. Just reaching the next higher line of blocks is in itself a challenge.
I love the animation and models though. The facial features and the shaders used in this game make the 3D models look as if almost drawn in 2D.
I saw my friend play this last night and it looks amazing, I really wish I had the money for it.
I kind of want this game after seeing some gameplay. But I have family walking by my room all the time, and my cousins(6-12) walk in all the time, my mom just walks in, so I don't think I'll be getting this anytime soon due to them being all "I don't want you seeing any boobies until you're 18." If it ever gets ported to PC, I'm buying it.
I may get disagreed with, but I think Catherine is a pretty western game.
The story isn't like something I see very often in Eastern media, the story covers a lot of subjects that I see in a lot of western thrillers and psychological horror films, they only TEASE nudity, whatever town they're in also looks pretty western, the only Asian looking characters I think are Katherine and Erica kind of.
And Puzzle gameplay is androgynous, I think.

Like, I found it weird when they were sitting on their knees in front of those tables (forgot the name, don't hit me!) drinking tea... I forgot they were in Japan.
I was reading about this for like half an hour, and i still hadn't figured out what the game was about. Been a long while since i've seen such a strange game.
while I'm intrigued by the concept (enough to ignore the anime artstyle) the fact that (like all japanese games ever made ever) it doesn't have a pc version turns me off it
Why does that still bother and shock people? Rarely does the PC get games like this. Especially Atlus.
Capcom, Ubisoft, EA, THQ and Activision are the publishers who make PC ports. Never expect any other publisher to make a PC version.
My only real big complaint are the confessional booths inbetween each nightmare level, you're asked a genuinely tough question sometimes and it's fun seeing what everyone else thinks, but when you take into account that a lot of people fib the answer just so they could work to a certain ending is just kind of a let down.
Also spoilers for one of the people at the bar (somewhat) [sp]Wonder how many people figured out Erica's dark secret before the game spells it out for you in the true katherine ending[/sp]

well that's a rather brash, broad, sweeping, uninformed, weird, silly, strange, quizzical statement to make
the only place where pc ports seem to be regarded with utter disdain is japan, I was just expressing my dismay that these games never make it to the PC for some reason, probably some weird cultural thing like their porn being censored
finished the game.
Interesting puzzles, somewhat interesting story, 8 endings and no nudity.

That's not any of the adjectives you used. It's true that many companies will not bother with a PC port. They either make one or the other. It's rare to see smaller companies venture from one market to the other (CD Projekt and Team Bondi) so I don't see why you would allow yourself to be dissapointed when a console only developer only makes a game for consoles.
and I didn't say those were the only publishers who do ports, I just said you can expect them to make PC ports.

How can you say that if you've probably don't watch asian movies or play normal asian games that are not mmo/sex games? I can't know this about you, but i bet you don't.
Just for your info, in Japan much of the movies and games are about how they deal with emotions.

Atlus are great, smallish company but we would likely never see many games in the west if it wasn't for them. Shame people don't really understand and call them out for not doing a pc version. Their history is mostly consoles anyway.

I have seen quite a few Asian films. Themes like this aren't very common in the ones I've seen.

Have you played Catherine yet?
Man, just beat Rapunzel, glad that's over with the music was getting old fa-
[sp]64 more levels that are a shit ton harder? Great.[/sp]
:suicide:
Finally got mine this tuesday. I was thinking the end was close but nope.
Great game.
Persona 5 next please. :saddowns:
Will say, this is the first game I think I'll platinum, I'm almost there so why not.
Though I worry what will happen when I'm done. Just "what now"
I like the style really. I haven't played a game lately that has a ton of psychological input required in it. It has a decent story with an immersive array of characters.
There are also rumors of a PC release as people have been snooping around the disks and have found PC control schemes/icon pictures.
EDIT:

I just got around to finally purchasing Catherine. The reviews seemed to be very mixed with people either loving the game or hating it, but since I love the Persona series, I figured I should like it.
Worst case scenario I figure my money would go towards Persona 5 if I don't like the game.

Well it's a puzzle game for starters, really if you like puzzles you'll like the game, that's about the sum of it. A lot of the negative stuff I heard way back then was just because people thought it would be a platformer or something stupid.
