These screenshots are made on an unfinished build of the game and the screenshots were probably taken on a PC that can't handle the highest settings.
The screenshots may look bad but that's because they dont come from the dev team.
And now the long wait continues.
And the most important thing is that it'll be a free mod.
My only complaint so far is the maps look exactly like the original Half Life, they need to enhance the textures.

No, thats the effect from getting hurt or something, its only in 2 screens, and in both the character is getting hurt.
There seem to be a lot of unaligned textures, and the player weapon models look unusual and fake, almost TF2-ish IMO. I dunno.
PS: we are [u]supposed[/u] to judge a mod by its screenshots, that is why they exist - to sell us on the mod's quality and environmental detail. and these screenshots show that they have excelled in some places and are very weak (or very incomplete) in others.
These are ingame screenshots, not re-touched specifically chosen screenshots. Therefore these give us the most accurate look at the quality of the mod.

The lighting is ridiculously boring and the nearest vending machine in the image is huge. It's about double the size it should be. The textures are also very flat, the wall texture needs a bump map or something.

Its the FoV settings they were using makes it look large (example, look at Kliner's head in the close up shot), its the same Vending machine model from HL2/CS:S just with a different texture.
The npcs look nice.
They didn't snag a picture of (HL2) Barney though. Young Eli and Kleiner look awesome.
