Black Mesa "more or less complete" (+100 new pics)

Damn, they sure had the JPG quality WAY down.
Also judging by Nate's post, the Xen part in he first level is done, they just didn't include it so they wouldn't spoil what they made Xen look like.
For all we know, these screenshots could have been taken awhile ago but not released. Also, the image is JPEG raped, so it makes it look less quality.
Half-Life has been out for about 13 years
11, 12 this year.
the way most of these screenshots were taken is about as tough a beating as any game can take. Regardless of what you think of their overall quality, we hope the final game will be jaw-dropping to play
So it should be better by release I'm guessing
I recently finished replaying half life 1 so i'm extra hyped for this.

Anyone else think thats a dynamic shadow? (I mean just for the scene, not like the whole mod will have them)
Yes, it would be a dynamic shadow. It's not hard to do, just an env_projectedtexture.
The only thing that seems unpolished about it is a bit of the fingerposing and Gordon's Hands' size and texture.

Was I the only one who thought of House at first?

Awesome, maybe we'll get it by the end of the year! :buddy:
it looks okay for a mod
i'm just a little put-off by the lackluster textures
I'm pretty sure it's red-cyan 3D, unless they decided to also use that effect for getting hurt.
EDIT: Look at http://i.imgur.com/cRXUx.jpg. The player is getting hurt there, but no red-blue effect. I think it's 3D support in the other screenshot.
Being red-green colourblind, I saw only the damage indicators.

Okay for a mod? This is the best mod for half life 2 and probably any other game. Anyone would of stopped the project from delays.

I wish people would stop saying it's the best mod for half-life 2 based on screenshots and 1 trailer.
You haven't played it, you haven't a clue about how good it is. Crysis looks very nice visually, the screenshots and trailers 'wow' people but as a game it wasn't really that good.
Stop pretending you know how good the mod is because you really don't.

you're great at hyping but that's about it
i don't think a half-life mod that aspires to be nothing more could be categorized as the best mod ever
it'll never be as good as you thought half-life was
It honestly doesn't look as good as it has been hyped up to be, and has also fallen short on my own expectations of something that has been in the works for so long. Still though, looking forward to it's release, though it's never gonna do the original Half Life game justice. :sax:

Well we're assuming the guy was running the game below very high, since older shots on the BMS site look better.
What about NMRIH?
NMRiH is going to be great, trust me, I'm on the team. It looks really good compared to this.

Wait, it's still alive? I heard about it before I bought HL2, I was wondering if it was out, dead, or still being worked on.
That's awesome, but the models are kinda too much HD.
That's like saying my car is too clean.
im goin buy it for chirstmaas
I just hope this can run well enough on my shit computer.
My main gripe is that the lighting seems to... Bright? I can't come up with a term for it. The rooms are weirdly shaded and makes the texturing look terrible.

This looks like Half-Life: Source to me.
It's probably just the guy's computer.
Hopefully.

Wow. The brushwork is identical (except for the room on the left) and the lighting in Half-Life:Source is superior.
Sorry but they could have done so much more with that hallway. Just 2 hours of work at most and it'd look so much nicer.
It's free :downs:
now i dont have anything to buy :(
