Man that is such a good idea for a mutant. In my opinion the mutants in some games are a little far fetched, (Metro 2033, a few things in STALKER bother me), Like, the picture just seems natural, like that could actually happen, I like (not in a weird creepy way), how the body looks, how there's a spine sticking out a bit and that there are antlers on its forefeet(?), as well. I think it should be done

Too bad Antichrist is busy nuking palestine, I didn't get a chance to talk to him about it or anything mod-related for that matter. Anyway, I'm doing progress on modeling generic shit props but for now I don't want to release more media without him knowing. So, let's get to it then, yes? [IMG]http://i43.tinypic.com/2jb5sty.png[/IMG] High-poly render, 95.000 triangles. Base mesh poly count is at 1484 using only quads. I didn't leave out the antlers, They gave me some funky geometry at high subdivisions, so I temporarely removed them. It's obviously a WIP, but I am getting there pretty fast. Also, funny looking knees due to extra edge loops for rigging. Won't be noticable at a normal stance, but you need those extra verts for posing
Wow, that looks really cool. Reminds me of that one short story by H.P. Lovecraft, Colours From Space I think...
Has anyone heard anything from Xoomer/Antichrist? He's been online for almost a week straight not responding and now he's been offline for a week. Anyone check the news? Did Israel get nuked by palestine? Just asking 'cause I'd hate to take up coding and put even less effort into my dayjob for the sake of modding. Wait, I'd love that. I just hate the learning process.
More updates. Low-tier gas mask, but with a full face visor. Got a fully modelled interior for first-person use. Will post more of that. There are fucking tons upon tons of high-quality models for every single purpose of every single range of pixels, details, attachments, scratches, and from every game to possible port from. Using stock material always is a difficult thing if you have a strickt concept in your mind. We, for instance, have the stalker-design guidelines to follow so that players and stalker-fans will know what they are signing up for as well as our own in order to provide a fresh load of content. So getting that specific type of material can be problematic, since you have to adapt to what is available, not what you have in mind. I mean, just look what a piece of chaotic fuckery the cinnematic mod became. As you would expect the guy couldn't find an Alyx Vance model in a high-poly stock model database, so he used this hideous abomination with puffy lips that look like the lips of a happy vagina and would even put angelina jolie to shame. Anyway, I'm getting off the point. Sure, there are some assets that could be salvaged from stock material, but one of our initial goals was to create original content, effectively rebuilding and extending the range of source assets. Also, in the end, this is all up to Xoomer/Antichrist. I just kinda slipped into the role of the PR guy.
The Gasmask effect is cool , can somebody tell me on how could i replicate such an effect? (In the video i mean)

So It's rendered in real time by the engine, if that's what you mean, not done in post video editing As for progress on the mod, it's going on pretty slowly. I'm doing character designs and a bit of modelling here and there but I have a job (wich is unfortunately not video games) and so my time is limited. But I work on this as much as I can. Antichrist will have to get his basic training done before he can return to active coding. I hope he likes what I've done with the mod's assets so far.

Given the fact that great leader Xoomer is currently getting his man on in the army, I have a lot of freedom to dick around and started doing NPC's. I have no Idea how they will be implemented in the game, I am just building up a stock of models to work with (funny, seeing how normally theres tons of guys with ideas but no content, now we are getting tons of content but little code.) Meet Patrick "Hungarian". Towering at almost 6 foot 5 this heavyweight is a force to be reckoned with, especially if you are a snork (as illustrated). He is a free stalker, spending most of his time getting shitfaced on irradiated vodka, a thing that didn't leave his mind unaffected, but he was never a genius to start with (not to say he drunk himself retarded. jeez, I mean look at the guy, all he does is that stupid stare). But fuck this, who needs sober brains when you have an AK and migty strength to stomp the loval wildlife with, right?
