Well in the OP under Cryengine 2 it sais "NaturalMotion's Morpheme" which sounds like it's going to have GTAIV like deaths.
It's not a glitch, it's an optional feature. It reduces loading times - and in a multiplayer game that is important, so you spend less time waiting for all 32 players to load up and can jump into and start playing a proper game right away. I'll happily trade a bit of texture popping over a lot of extra waiting any time.
Mass Effect has retarded loading times and it happens so much.
I prefer Cryengine, because every game that uses UE3 turns into a brown and gray postprocessing and bloom infested game.
Why.
Because both Unreal Engine and Source Engine are better optimized, and by that i mean if we start a Cry2 game and UE3 on exactly same PC's with exactly same graphic setting and same amount of polys on the screen UE3 will have more FPS.
Also what we are talking about is what ENGINE is better NOT what engine looks better.
CryEngine2 have the looks...that's it.
Enreal Engine 3 have the optimization, great mod support, crossplatforming, best games etc.
IMHO UE3 and Source win
Because he doesn't know what he's talking about.
Idiot

P.S. i can bet that most of the people here doesn't even know what game engine is.
Engine is not just what you see, engine is the core of the game as a program. Proper gamedevs (like me ^^) know that.
OP should add videos and comparison shots.
Dunia? why so?
Funny thing about Crysis, is a lot of people are interested in it because it takes or did take a lot of power to run at max, a lot of people got interested solely because it's so amazing looking, not so much for the game or story it's self.
Yeah Crysis was a really crappy game, apart from the graphics. And I still think they could've optimized it better.

A lot of facepunchers are programmers FYI
If you're trying to impress people, It's not working.

Haven't seen any in Video Games section sooo.....
And no i'm not trying to impress anybody, this feature have been permanently disabled on FP
CryEngine2 looks better if you can handle maxing it out.
UE3 scales better.
I could barely run Crysis on the lowest settings and it looked like ass anyway. Whereas UT3 played smoothly and looked great even though my settings were pretty low.

I agree about the postprocessing and what someone said earlier about all the characters being on steroids, but that doesn't have to do with the engine. I don't really get it. There's absolutely no reason why UE3 games can't have realistic models like HL2 or use more realistic post processing effects. It's weird how all these games that use the same engine decide to use the same art direction as well.
I think it would be a really cool experiment to recreate the first chapter of HL2 in UE3 and Cryengine2 while trying to be as accurate as possible. It would be interesting to see what differences there are.

Because this is the video game section and not the programming section :downs:

Mr. newbie gamedev. :smug:
I don't really care to much about e-penis sizing.
I'll get back to that topic after our first release.

*sigh* i miss the time when games was based on gameplay and not graphics
Still, it all depends on what game developers can do. One good thing about ue3 is that it can use brushes.
I thought the Unreal Engine looked heaps good in Bioshock.
For the record, I do have some bias, as I am a programmer, and I have more experience with Unreal 3 - but I have worked with both engines.
Aion: The Tower Of Eternity is made on the CryEngine 2 and looks great and runs well.

Isn't it on CE1?

Just because it says CryEngine it doesn't mean CE2, it's built on CE1.

UT3 is too glossy and as much as I hate the actual executions of CryEngine, I'll have to give it my vote.
Personally I much prefer CryEngine, sure people knock it for being "unoptimized" and other random crap, which is really is. However, I find it to be rather superior to UE3, in both graphics and physics, which is pretty much all that matters in a game engine, since the gameplay has to be added separately by which ever dev decides to utilize the engine for their game. While it does some what lack versatility in that it isn't very cross platform compatible or easily scalable, it more than makes up for it with its quite incredibly graphics engine. It's absolutely outstanding, UE3 doesn't even compare. Where UE3 looks like everything is drenched in oil and wrapped in plastic (thanks to a what is, in my honest opinion, a completely unnecessary overload of normal maps), CryEngine's ability to handle high resolution textures, shaders, and complex geometry at the same time makes it a clear winner; and I haven't even mentioned CryEngine's ability to handle absolutely huge maps, compared to UE3's tiny cramped ones. Technologically, CryEngine is just that much better, developers only pick UE3 because it scales better, and because it's easier to port across all platforms.

They're actually turkish.

CryEngine 2, a five year old could do the level design and you don't need to compile to test it.
