Has anyone actually landed on the moon using the N1 Soviet lunar mod?
duno i am going to try it soon. I've sent myself through deep space using it, but nothing too special, like landing
:crying:
If you want to go to the Moon: Hypothetical Orbit, I haven't done it in a while but in lamen's terms:
Align your ship to follow the same Orbit as the Moon does around earth (In relation to the earth's surface map) You can set on an MFD to show a hypothetical orbit (I think it's called) that'll be a dashed green oval, extending out as you extend it's distance... There should be a yellow line representing the Moon (You have to have it set as the target) You want to intersect the Dashed green Eclipse with the yellow line, once done, you should be able to see when you want to do a burn for the moon, you stop the burn once a SOLID green line lines up with your dashed Hypothetical one. Also I keep my ship in Prograde when I do this
No worries if you did too much or too little, you, can speed up a bit or slow down along the way to insert perfectly into position, once at the Moon you can close the orbit by going Retrograde with the moon and slowing down
You also won't have the Moon in front of you (And 'front' relates to the direction you're traveling, not looking) for quite a bit into the journey, Moon orbits earth every month, and it takes about 4 days in the Glider to get there using this method, so it will move
Kind of hard to describe actually, now that I read that confusing hunk of shit I just typed
Oh the hell with it, you know what's fun, getting a shuttle launch up on youtube, play it, hop in orbiter (Make sure you have that soundpack installed) let the video count down as you're in orbiter, soon as they lift off, you lift off... the game matches up with the real life video and audio transmissions almost to the second, some of them even play at the same time... It's amazing how Close Orbiter is to the real thing in terms of Scale
The MFD you are talking about is the Transfer MFD, in case anybody was wondering. I've gone to the moon numerous times, but I haven't ever quite been able to get back :v:

Getting back works the same way, Only you have to change the Reference to the Moon instead of Earth, and Earth as the target... It's much easier to go to one of Mars' moons and back, since worse case scenario, you can just point your ship at mars and make it
Does it have multiplayer?
Does it have multiplayer?
No.
I like things where you can just hit every button and stuff eventually happens, but in this game, if you do that, you end up making Atlantis go in circles near the launch pad.
Love the Music in outer space.
Way too realistic for me. I barely managed to enter orbit, and even that was with invulnerability turned on, and with me brute forcing my way in with all the thrusters I could turn on.
How do you get a clickable cockpit with Atlantis?
How do you get a clickable cockpit with Atlantis?
F1 I believe.
F1 I believe.
ef fokin 8 bitch
o wait
that's for the virtual cockpit.
the delta glider has a clickable cockpit, though.
I ran out of fuel, and ended up plumeting to earth in a delta glider, i clicked everything and mannaged to land in the ocean, who knew oceans worked like landing pads too?
Games fun but I play Flight Sim X.
You can go to space in FSX?
You can go to space in FSX?
There's a few shuttles you can use to go to space in it.
FSX doesn't come anywhere close to what Orbiter allows, I think the best you can accurately do in FSX is Simulate a re-entry

There's OMP, but I haven't tried it so far.
Trying out the XR2, all Manual flying

About an hour and a half after take off, on approach to the ISS
What happens when you fly into Jupiter?

You seem to know quite a lot about it. How much fuel should you burn at max for going into orbit with the delta glider (from Kennedy Space Center)?

Not sure, as I don't use the Default DG, I use DGIV, and I think I've replaced it with the XR2 now, that thing is the dog's nuts
with the DGIV, you should have about 35-45% Left after reaching orbit, with the XR2, about 60% if you use the Scramjets at the right time
I usually don't put myself in a maintained orbit in one burn, I'll lopside my orbit a bit, to where the top is around 220k Altitude, and the bottom.. well the Bottom is earth, so once I reach the peak altitude, I do a prograde burn that brings the bottom of the orbit out to about the same altitude, so it's near perfect
I don't orbit, I refuel at the iss and set course for pluto.
iv made it there.... 0 times. lol.
Wow, space walking is pretty fun in this game. Especially seeing your ship slowly drifting away when you desperately try to get into it.
One time I was in space on the Atlantis, I pressed every button and my ship started to spaz out.
One time I was in space on the Atlantis, I pressed every button and my ship started to spaz out.
I think that would happen if you pressed every button in almost any game.
I'm going to reinstall this, though the last time I played was like 3 years ago.
Go Play in Space is a great tutorial.
i de-orbited the iss.
i needed a long burn because ships dont like to actualy reach prograde or retrograse when docked.
I'm gonna try that after I remember stuff
