its a crap orbit, but im orbiting against the rotation of the earth.

you are going to hit the ISS if you edit your orbit inclination, and altitude :buddy:

Now that would be a challenge, lining the orbit up precicely enough for a head-to-head pass with the ISS at about 15-16 kps.

yeah i was kidding, i doubt anybody could achieve such a feat..
I want to see someone push the ISS out of orbit.
I just want to figure out how to get to the ISS so I can do a plane-change without completely fucking over my fuel.

not hard just get a strong enough craft, and enough fuel. Pushing it down would be dumb, just reduce the speed to ~6K and it should fall within 6-12 hours, or just reduce it to something like ~4-5K and it will go down very very fast. try to do it without spinning the ISS.. very hard.
returning when you are going @ 4K is going to be quite a challenge considering your vertical speed would be around ~2000... the re-entry temps would be outrageous.
I played this a long time ago, i minimized for 4 minutes to talk to my friend on aim, and when i went back to Orbiter i was in an uncontrollable spiral flying past Mars.

there is a 2009 beta out on orbiters forums.
When you first start playing orbiter you'll have alot of fun.

Hmmm I want to change my orbit horizontally but I can't do it without screwing up laterally. Perhaps my plan of pointing the nose 90 degrees away from my path along the Earth and burning is too simple?
Nope, I had just screwed up my orbit too much earlier.
lol
also (cocks)
easiest way to learn is to go to replays, and watch the whole mission, of say, a DG going to the ISS. then you get an idea of how you have to get there.
i got to the ISS in 9 minutes 30 seconds - you can too!
So where's the beta?
can't find it anymore.. wtf lol
Ill look harder

Horizontal/Vertical relative to what? The Equator of Earth?
Are you try to change your orbital inclination or your periapsis?
Sorry for bump but I was wondering if there are any good video tuts? After watching Hubble 3D I want to play this.
Real men do re-entry in 30 seconds.
For a free game, it's not too bad. I'm not sure if there's a new version out, but the last time I tried it (a few months ago), the program was getting really long-in-the-tooth and starting to really show it's age.
The website is pretty archaic and confusing too.
this fulfills many of my nerd fantasies
i love this simulator

I did mine in 20. Too bad I was in the Ravenstar, and everyone died after I ejected.
