I love the update with these "mob spawning arrows". Here's what I do.
-Make a tunnel into a mountainside.
-Make a hole going up to the surface of the mountain.
-Block entrance with wood.
-Shoot arrows into the hole.
-Release the cave and kill them...

I had good luck then bad luck. I found a big mine with a lot of gold and iron, but then I got lost. Then my pickaxe broke. After about ten minutes I found my way out, then got lost looking for my house. All along the way I saw plenty of deposits of iron and coal. I walked around for like 20 minutes before I finally found my house.
Got more work done on my shitty game.

Although if possible I would make the player bigger. One block is half the height of a player in the regular game

While trying to mine my way out of a cave I got lost in, I hit a dirt block and the cave flooded with water.
Needless to say I died with an fps of 10

Recently in /indev/ I noticed some peculiar dark holes in my cave. I mined through these dark holes and behold, I found another small cave... Or so I thought. The 'small' cave had a bit of iron and gold in it, and then I discovered that connected to this cave was a HUGE FUCKING SERIES OF UNDERWATER CAVES. I didn't notice this at first because it was out of my view, which will be demonstrated by this side-view picture:

There was a dirt wall blocking the portion of the cave that was not underwater, and thus I did not discover this until I went underwater... I'm scared shitless to know what could lurk in that mindfucking huge cave. I don't even want to fucking look even if I save right before it because I'm afraid I'll scream like a pussy, shit my pants, piss them, and scare everybody in my neighborhood due to this fucking dark and horrible cave.
This is the scariest game I've ever played. Great fucking job Notch, great fucking job.

I don't see quite what's the point of making a shitty 2d game if you have a 3d and fully functional game of the exact same concept right in front of you.

...As well as this giant stair thing that pigs and sheep somehow manage to climb, because we keep finding them on the massive platform ringing the top, right before they jump off.

That's to say nothing of the basement, full of lava and water and a gravel-marked trail through a bunch well-lit caverns to a second main chamber, with a fully fueled second furnace in case you need to do some digging.
Just, uh, don't follow the gravel past that room. Specifically, that little tunnel with a mark on either side of it's mouth. There's a big room on the other end of it, and while we're pretty sure it's secure (aside from those random exploding things and that one time it flooded...Or that other time it flooded with lava...Or that third time it flooded with lava and then exploding things), it's not exactly anywhere we'd recommend exploring, unless you [I]really[/I] like zombies.
Oh! And the last guy who inspected it lost the map. Don't worry, it's smack dab in the center of the forest, you'll find it. Just stick to the tree tops and keep a look out for a string of torches.

What I do if I ever am on a large/normal map, is I build a 2 brick wall going as high as possible, and then I get down by destroying one of the columns, so I have this land mark to look for next to my fort if I ever get lost.
So, I went into infdev, made this big hole, shot like 50 arrows at it, it was filled with monsters.
All of a sudden black lit skeletons start coming out of the earth was shooting arrows at me, they come after me! I have no choice, so I throw myself into that hole where there were like 20 creepers, kablooey, I died and the crater... it was big :v:
