This game is interesting and promising... and it feels abit familiar. I wonder how could this compete with gmod. (Basically gmod is better in everything, except you cant dig[I think this is possible] around and go underground.)
gmod- physics engine based playground minecraft- playground based playground you can't compare them competitively, but you CAN compare them on the grounds that they both serve the same freestyle purpose to different means. One you use existing things creatively, the other you create things creatively. :eng101:
That's good idea He should start on it after survival multiplayer.
He's adding leashes sometime, I believe.
what I do is just dig a ton of 2-block-deep potholes around my base, and the animals and monsters randomly fall in and I can kill them at my leisure :v:
I'm uploading a video of my defense structure to YouTube. It's pretty effective.
infdev update: Trees and furnaces infdev’s been updated: * working tile entities (furnaces, chests) * trees and forests * way fewer crash bugs * ore (just randomly placed at the moment) next up is tile ticking (farms, spreading fire, that stuff) and level saving/loading. Left to do after that is splitting out the level generator code into a separate thread to avoid the choppy framerate when moving into unexplored areas, adding cave generation code, making the water dynamic again, and writing a level importer.
fuck yes!

http://www.1337upload.net/files/0torni.mclevel Minecraft generated me a perfect map for a tower :buddy:
Could someone gift me Minecraft, pretty pretty please, with cream and a cherry on top? You love cherries, don't you? Got money, but not a credit card, or parents that trust PayPal.

Found the weirdest bug. Generating a level with the "Floating, Deep, Small, Paradise" settings causes you to start way above the map instead of in the house, and you just fall to your death. Edit: You also have to set the difficulty to "Peaceful" and generate it from inside the game menu as opposed to the Main Menu. It's a really weird glitch. Should I report it to Notch?

My only comment would be that it's not all that good for observing shit coming at you. Like, eventually, mining starts to suck, constantly doing everything with a pick, and you're going to want to turn on hard mode and hunt creepers at night en masse for dynamite. With a pit or moat, you're stuck with however many come to you. With a tower (or, ideally a network of short towers or one continuous platform), you can see 'em from pretty far off in the moonlight and go hunt 'em down. As is, you're kinda stuck trying to spot 'em and then go run through your keep to actually get out the door and then find them again.

Infdev's level generator never ceases to amaze me.
Hey guys I heard Notch is going to add farming soon.
I hear Notch is going to release this game called Minecraft soon!:downswords:
Yeah, infdev is starting to look more and more like a game I would pay some real money to play. I know a lot of people here don't care for MMOs, but landscape-wise, the overall feel is (in my opinion) like that of an MMO now. Can't wait for eventual survival multiplayer with high player limits.
Yeah, infdev is starting to look more and more like a game I would pay some real money to play.
luckily for you i gave it to you for free :3:
Also, a strange bug a friend of mine discovered. First light up a forge with, say, one plank and one cobblestone, and then remove it with a pickaxe before it stops burning. Now, when you place the forge somewhere else it will still be burning and emitting light, but without using any materials. Nice to have before you get coal. Oh, and it also works underwater. Bear in mind that this is most likely a bug and will probably be fixed at some point.
Define Forge
im going to come on. what server should I join. i wanna have some fun tonight while i let TF2 Idle
What the hell... in infdev, if you shoot arrows, it spawns a random mob where ever the arrow hits. I hadn't seen it yet, lemme look... It is not in the blog, and no one seemed to have posted about it. Oh shit just noticed sorry for my :downs:
What the hell... in infdev, if you shoot arrows, it spawns a random mob where ever the arrow hits
Geeze, It's been posted 5 times already. And it's in the blog. Do people live under rocks these days?
wait why the fuck are all the servers for FP down. hmmm I feel very out of place right now.
mines not http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?server=a8f9553a1dd279d45989cd138edac6
also why the hell do people get banned if they try to do the spawn-in-blocks glitch to get out of spawn? pisses me off.
also why the hell do people get banned if they try to do the spawn-in-blocks glitch to get out of spawn? pisses me off.
Probably because you aren't supposed to get out of spawn; It's a griefing deterrent. [editline]05:32PM[/editline] They are supposed to let you out, not you FORCE YOURSELF out.
also why the hell do people get banned if they try to do the spawn-in-blocks glitch to get out of spawn? pisses me off.
Because it beats the entire point of a spawncage, you need to be trusted to get out of spawn. BUYING the game earns 95% of that trust.
Because it beats the entire point of a spawncage, you need to be trusted to get out of spawn. BUYING the game earns 95% of that trust.
the entire point of a spawncage is to make sure that you dont' get any new players in your server i thought.
In Infdev, try digging a 64 tiles deep hole and build yourself out of it using the TNT boxes. Then hit the topmost one when you're at ground level again.
yea I kinda get that. but damn it takes them fucking forever to actually let us out.
Rate me dumb.
Why the fuck is everyone calling it infdev. IT'S INDEV FOR FUCK'S SAKE.
http://www.minecraft.net/indev/ <-- Indev http://www.minecraft.net/infdev/ <-- Infdev
