Some guy taught me how to make awesome circular castle towers (parapets) but I forgot the layout. Everything fitted in perfectly, and there was enough room for a central stairwell.
Anyone mind giving me a layout on how to make a nice tower?

If you read the developement blog like most people you'd discore that it's there because infdev doesn't have spawning enemies yet and Notch wanted to implement some way of creating them for testing purposes.

this game is awesome. The beta looks great from the videos I've seen!
But I don't really see the point to the survival gamemode, looks like a smaller version of indev to me.

indev stands for "in developement". It's a test version of what survival will become.
The reason survival is there is to give a taste of things yet to come for those who haven't bought it yet. Indev is there because it motivates people to purchase minecraft and thus help in developement.

Just those two. Its really fun and addictive. I bought it just recently after trying out survival. There is a huge difference between survival and indev. Much more to do in indev. Plus you get to use infdev as well.

Notch speculated about incorporating all of those into future version. Nothing's set in stone though.

How can you kill skeletons the easy way? They're arrows are just fucking annoying and hard to dodge if you're near them.
