I really do hope Notch leaves it as a Player-run world. I was thinking of this earlier.. Lets say on the future [B]Multiplayer Infdev Survival[/B] version of the game, someone gets into [B]Farming[/B] and harvesting foods and wool from sheep, then they produce such a huge mass of [B]Materials[/B], they could open a self-built shop and accept Smelted Ore's as currency. This would give them a 'job' as a [B]Farmer/Shopkeeper[/B], supplying things like [B]Clothing, Weapons, Armor and Food[/B] in the game world and it would save [B]Slayer[/B] style plays from wasting their time farming. Imagine, running a pretty nice little factory, hiring people, paying them what you make in profit and also using your earned Ore's from selling stuff to make more tools for Farming etc. This is going to be really interesting and I hope it develops into something much more deep and complex than 'hit blox, build shit, kill shit and move on'. Who agree's with me?
if he does add npc shops he'll probably make them toggle-able

I built this one in single player Inf_Dev, Started the arms using dirt scaffolding- [img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Statue1.png[/img] The head with dirt scaffolding around it- [img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Statue2.png[/img] Built a helmet out of metal- [img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Statue3.png[/img] Daylight, they're hollow with a staircase through the body- [img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Statue5.png[/img] Took about 2-3 hours, but I'll be able to do the next one faster because I have a technique down.
I just took over a server with robots.
I don't see why people have such high expectations for Multi-player Survival. It's just going to end up like creative too; with a bunch of abandoned stuff lying all over and ruins of things that were built by other people and then knocked down by other people. That's what it's most likely going to be, at least. Hopefully it won't be.

The key to keeping any multiplayer game fresh is to allow people to play multiple roles, and that'll be key to keeping multiplayer survival interesting. Initially? I'd like everyone in the mines, some guarding, some digging, some running errands, everybody taking turns. As a base is established, I'd like to think people can fulfill multiple roles including building ad-hoc structures without being shoehorned into "jobs" or the like. All I'd really like to see is an outpost or ship on the borders of levels where gold can be traded for materials. That's about it. The solution is a private server, and you're on friggin' FP- there should be plenty whenever Multindev rolls around.
Thing is that even if the server is only for FP members, it's still gonna be full of griefers.
A private FP server? They'd just get gebannzed, and be a temporary nuisance.

Well for one how would we know, survival MP isn't even out yet, we don't know how people are going to act. My logic is this: If there are griefers on Creative multiplayer, why wouldn't there be griefers on Survival MP? i mean, it would be EVEN EASIER for them to accomplish what they want: Fuck you over and piss you off, because now instead of ONLY building something awesome, you need to also fight for it and defend it. If they grief your base while you are away or even there, you're fucked; Get killed etc.
