Look for holes. Also yeah, monsters can stack on each other even though they aren't supposed to.

Shit, nostalgia right there.
I don't know if Lightning2 or Chryseus still have the save anywhere.
When I mine things like diamond, or gold, I don't get anything. What am I doing wrong?

You have to be using a steel pickaxe I believe.

Any chance people would be up for this again?
I'm totally up for it :v:

Dammit, dammit, dammit. I spent like 25 minutes trying to get some gold :(.
Thanks for letting me know though.
I had the same problem. Instead of minecraft.net in the address bar I did www.minecraft.net, and it worked.
When I do that it stops at switching applet. It must hate windows 7.

Gold isn't that good anyway. Shiny, but not much else.

Shit, page topper. Have a look at my soon-to-be Church in Indev then :v:

The dirt will be replaced with stone and I'll get some gold in there.
It's hard for me to decide whether to buy this or not. I am really hooked on multiplayer, but I am afraid that I wont be playing it soon. And I don't have the money for it right now.
ARGH WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Apparently notch was on my server earlier.
<pcbot> Notch: Fuck this shit I'm going to space.
:what:
The new level generator does have some glitches...

I bet if you hollowed that cliff out and put some windows in it could make a really cool office building fort thing.
I found a "Monolithic Structure", so I'm in the process of hollowing it right NOW.

I was going to use it for decoration.
Also, nice church thing.

I think I'll add cloth seats or something. And the cross will be golden if I find any gold.
What is the point of indev?
I bought the game and I'm slightly disappointed because I could already play creative mode and survival for free.
guys come on the server
I flooded my entire world and made an underground metro :v:

Indev survival is vastly superior to the free survival test.
Mainly for crafting, day/night cycles, different map styles, etc.
You also should get Infdev, which is Notch's WIP on "infinite" maps.
guys come on the server
which one
In case of time constraints, or you just want to start the game without having to hit trees to get a wooden pickaxe, etc, I present to you Quickstart.mclevel. I created a normal small island map and went in with the popular NBTEdit to give myself all the essentials: A crafting table, a large chest, a workbench, a furnace, and the following contained in the chest as well as 64 coal in the furnace:

Since there isn't an official "quickstart" level setup, I figured I'd create one. The only problem with this is that it's the same map every time, and I'm hoping sometime in the future there will be a setup ingame that gives you the basics, possibly an option when you set up your level at the beginning.

Not much of a quickstart, more like a cheat - 4 iron pickaxes and swords right from the start?

Save up and buy it so you can enjoy it now and you won't have to worry about paying twice as much for when it's released.

That's what I thought... kind of defeats the purpose of survival if you can just be given everything from the start.
