Can somebody tell me the current maximum dimensions for a level to load in indev?
It seems larger than the stock "huge" limits, but at the same time, trying to poke for the point where it stops crashing is annoying.

Those are the only maps I make, 512 x 512 x 512 and it still crashes on me
The new infdev is pretty sexy in my opinion, right now I'm building a sort of city inside of a large floating land mass above the ground, attached only by a few columns of dirt and rock.
At the moment, there aren't any cave generations quite yet.
There is also a lack of water physics...Minecraft physics, even.
I made my "base" underneath the water, even without anything actually blocking it from pouring in, and it just floats there. Some Rapture shit going on.

I'm not talking about the server features, although they are really cool. I'm talking about all the sexy shit you can see on any one of their servers and how they manage to keep it grief free.
You may think the admins are annoying, but they really are some of the best admins I've seen.
While their main server is a crowded mess (But with many hidden gems), their lowground server is beautiful,

The only thing it adds is custom skins, you can go on any server you want.
Also, chat seems to be broken on Nick's server.

You don't need to purchase the game for creative mode servers at the moment.

I can imagine infinite survival on large servers (possibly 64 - 256 players) being someone like a fast Wurm, where the spawn point is an NPC town and surrounding the town is a very large settlement of players who didn't stray too far and decided to stay close to civilization. Then, further out in uncivilized parts of the world are the small villages or large castles set up by a group of friends/community members who occasionally grow in size from meeting a passerby. Every once in a while wars may break out between nearby settlements and (not like Wurm) traders may travel through to trade resources that certain regions may not have.
But maybe I'm just dreaming. It sounds too good to be true.
Then what is the best server to find huge ass things people make?

Large flatgrass area with almost no buildings. Good server security software, so you're going to have to wait for an admin before you can leave the guest area.
