I've had problems lately trying to get good software. MinerCCP is ok.

What is this software?

It's for running a server. You can use Notchs default stuff which is found on the Minecraft website but it's pretty basic and very limited. Custom/3rd party software gives you many more features and control of the server.

Yeah it will be good.. but I'd imagine you'd need a hefty PC to maintain loads of people on such a huuuge map but Notch is optimizing pretty good so it might be ok.

He's said he's going to add optional Noclip/Fly/Speed to creative mode and server admins can decide wether to active it or not. And I'll assume the current custom server software developers will make some nice plugs for that where you can give certain 'ranks' of players the ability to use it but new users to the server can't etc.

A flying enemy would be nice. I can imagine a packed town in multiplayer, every guy moving and waving his arms like a downy.

You'd [I]definitely[/I] need a roof on your base. I normally don't build one because a decent set-up of torches will stop them spawning in there.

Some sort of huge big epic flying beast along the lines of a dragon would really be awesome. It'd be really rare but would take a ton of arrows to take down and could ignite wooden objects with fiery breath.
