It's terrible for everything but decorations e.g. chandeliers.
so, is gold armor worth it, as opposed to tools, or is it still just as chincey compared to the other materials? :raise:
Gold armor looks cool and a full set will still give you full AP, but it takes damage horribly quickly.

It lasts like wood.
Yeah, gold tools are equal to wood tools and I think gold armor is equal to leather armor.
So, me and a friend decided to buy this earlier, and I have to say the indev version is really some great fun.
I just wondered though, I've noticed that torches sometimes doesn't light an area before some time has passed. The amount of time needed seems to vary as well. Is this a bug?
I bought it,
I figure there are worse things to spend $10 on, and I'm helping an indie developer in the process, which is always a good thing.
I think it's because of the day/night cycle. It happens to me too
Notch spoke about it on his devblog. It's the way the lighting system works, it's parsing things elsewhere when the time of day changes from day to night and vice versa, and since it's busy it doesn't take new light sources into account
I hate those goddamn kamikaze zombie fucks. I've played indev for like 5-6 times, and everytime I'd get killed by them :argh:
yeah they're fucking smart pricks.
i remembered my first real game on Indev, I had a massive wooden tower and the motherfucker was right in the center and went POP. There goes my tower and I couldn't get down without dying :/

Ditto, but I am really enjoying indev mode :D.
Can someone explain how I craft like a stove/furnace and other stuff?
Im just wandering around and I have no idea what to do in indev.

Thank you! :buddy:
A hint: Get stone tools ASAP. And don't do like I did and make a game on a deep huge island... the resources all start like 1km below the surface
After not playing Minecraft for a while, I tried out the survival mode. I started building some shelter away from the creatures, and a skeleton wanders over and starts shooting arrows at me. I bitch slap him to death, then he explodes into a bunch of arrows and I die. :byodood:
Made a new portal world for my server. Dysgalt helped :3:
I want to buy this, it seems like it'd be so much fun to just build stuff and fight monsters.

I thought he'd get horribly damaged and knocked in the lava.
I am dissapoint.
That scared the shit out of me though.
Is it possible to save in the indev version?
I know it defeats the purpose, but I'd like to keep my progress for now.
EDIT:
Figured it out.
Meh, I am bored as can be, Would anyone want to watch if I decided to broadcast Indev? *shrugs*
What the fuck? I'm chilling in my house since its night, and suddenly I start hearing "UGGHHH, UGH UGHHH" Are the zombies outside having a gay zombie orgy?
By the way, if you want to surf/do other stuff while time passes in Minecraft, right click a work bench. It wont pause the game and you'll be able to do other things while you wait.

Probably began to become daylight, and the light began to burn them up...That's my guess

Decided to broadcast while waiting on mr "WHATTHESHIT" To begin broadcasting, I am broadcasting on www.livestream.com/ryusho
I'm trying to modify mclevel files to add 1000 creepers but it's not going very well, I've never done Java before :v:
Well I'm done, need to go get some sleep....
I only started playing this yesterday and It's fucking awesome! Wish I had started playing this earlier.
The world is bigger now.
As I was optimizing and fixing bugs today, I found a few places where I was still using 32 bit floats instead of 64 bit floats. As a result of fixing this, the maximum surface area in Minecraft is now 4096 million square kilometers, or about eight times the surface area of earth.
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%2864000000+meters%29^2
The optimizations (mostly as a break from the lighting, which I need to rewrite partially AGAIN) have been very fruitful. On the shortest fog (twice as long as the current shortest fog) I get 1200 fps on my main computer, and 80 fps on my Eee 901 PC. Please keep in mind that this is without caves and enemies, but it’s still a pretty massive improvement.
I will get an infdev update out this weekend.
