But you have to admit, there MUST'VE been a better way then to resort to.. THIS!
Hey what do you know, the Ubisoft DRM servers don't go down frequently either, imagine that!
This DRM seems faulty to me. I don't want to waste my money on some bullshit like that.
They're not forcing it on you, you don't have to play the game.
OMG you retard. I'm sorry but you're just pissing me off. Since fucking when does singleplayer require internet connection? Since this bullshit of course. If I buy a game with this DRM and I want to play singleplayer I am FORCED to be connected or else I won't be able to play. Can't you fucking get it?
You're not entitled to play the game just because it was released. You make it sound as though you absolutely have to play this video game but the DRM is some evil wall preventing that from ever happening. It's a fucking video game. If you don't like the way the company is doing things then don't play it.
Here we go. "Noone is forcing you to buy it. Don't like it don't buy it"
Best
Argument
Ever
If I want to buy something but it is horribly overpriced or has other ridiculous conditions I won't fucking buy it. But I can bitch and moan about it all I want.
This is how I know you're an idiot.
This is how I know you wouldn't spot sarcasm even if it was fucking you in the nostril.
Again, you're a moron. My statement wasn't an analogy regarding the act of pirating the game it was a about the flawed reasoning behind the pirating.
No you are a moron. People don't pirate this game just to "show them" or "fight the powar". They do it because they don't like the conditions on which company wants them to play.
Your situation isn't even remotely close to being analogous with the whole DRM situation because the ubisoft DRM doesn't only work at specific times. Maybe if you had said that the phone company makes phones that require you to be connected to the cell network. Oh wait...
IDIOT... You didn't understand the analogy at all. That thing about phones working only at specific times was an analogy of bullshit conditions. If there was bread instead of phones in my comparison would you insist that the bread should be connected to bread network at all times? Here I will point it out for you because you just can't comprehend it.

There. Got it now? Many people will choose to wait for a steady pirated version because it will not be limited by stupid conditions.
That's because it was a dumb question to begin with. Do you honestly believe that a multimillion dollar company isn't going to take precautions to help insure server stability?
Last time I heard servers were down, no? I guess they didn't insure enough.
Do you understand what logic is?
I don't believe that anyone who implemented DRM that hits legit customers follows logic.
Because you're acting childish and I wanted to join the fun :)
Funny definition of your word "childish", because I thought you were talking about yourself.
What about when offline mode doesn't work? The last couple times I've tried using offline mode it hasn't worked at all.
The only times when the offline mode didn't work to me when I didn't restart my Steam account for a update before cut or lossing any connetion.
I'm saying this more in the if you're going out somewhere why do you want to be playing computer games in the first place. Not to mention, it's not like it's at all hard to find a wifi connection when you're out and about these days.
Ever heard about "Travel"?
That's because it was a dumb question to begin with. Do you honestly believe that a multimillion dollar company isn't going to take precautions to help insure server stability?
Do you understand what logic is?
I think you need to review more your logic, because there are points which are wrong. Others members in this topic said it (Silly Sil above me).
That's a bit biased, I've never played a game fully released without bugs. Also, Legallness doesn't feel good in the least. People want to stick it to the man and feel like badasses, and surely not by walking to the store and buying stuff.
Then why has everyone been saying it is? :raise:
It's not a proper crack at all. Suffice to say, it's impossible to play the game. Ubisofts DRM at least in Assassins Creed 2 has not been beaten.
Interesting to see DRM that actually works.
This DRM seems faulty to me. I don't want to waste my money on some bullshit like that.
Then don't.

Then they shouldn't be playing. That's the point. You don't have a right to play video games under whatever circumstances you choose. Your sense of self entitlement is pathetic to say the least. Grow up.

You were attempting to correct my first analogy, but you didn't even provide an analogy for the same thing I was referring to so obviously you were the one that didn't understand.
Last time I heard servers were down, no? I guess they didn't insure enough.
Game just launched fine.
I don't believe that anyone who implemented DRM that hits legit customers follows logic.
I don't think any of you have room to complain about it until you've actually had any experience with it to be totally honest. You're all making claims that it goes down all the time and doesn't allow you to play games and none of you have even used it yet.
[editline]04:42PM[/editline]
Funny definition of your word "childish", because I thought you were talking about yourself.
I'd have to be repeating the same arguments over and over without justifying or backing up the points I'm trying to make, and complaining about something I haven't even had any experiences with to do that.
The only times when the offline mode didn't work to me when I didn't restart my Steam account for a update before cut or lossing any connetion.
You haven't been using steam for long then.
I think you need to review more your logic, because there are points which are wrong. Others members in this topic said it (Silly Sil above me).
It seems what you were trying to say is "LALALA IM RIGHT YOU'RE NOT LALALLALALA"
Then don't.
We return the same argument: What did you when it's your favorite game ?
You sound like a whiny 12 year old with a huge sense of self entitlement that didn't get the presents he wanted for Christmas.
Stop sounding like a teenager whom want to treat everyone an idiot. He has the right to tell your argument is invalid because it's completely selfish.
Then they shouldn't be playing. That's the point. You don't have a right to play video games under whatever circumstances you choose. Your sense of self entitlement is pathetic to say the least. Grow up.
You said that video games do not belong to the buyers? What the hell man. I understand now what is your logic. So you are claiming the fact the developers have every right to take back the game you have spending on ?
You haven't been using steam for long then.
I use Steam since 2 years at least. Stop juming on conclusions so fast like you did many times in this topic.
Travel is for seeing the world not playing video games around the world.
You didn't understand what I had saying about.
It seems what you were trying to say is "LALALA IM RIGHT YOU'RE NOT LALALLALALA"
If you keep talking at people like they are completely 12 years old children, and treating like dumbs, I have every right to tell you are wrong, because you are lacking on serious arguments.
You will remark I never treat you in the topic but you keep it, and it's not good for you.
Then don't.
You sound like a whiny 12 year old with a huge sense of self entitlement that didn't get the presents he wanted for Christmas.

You really can't grasp it can you?
Every purchase is a contract. In most cases a buyer exchanges money for goods or service which the seller provides. Both sides have to come to an agreement and follow contracts conditions (payment method, delivery method, legal stuff, etc).
Now a company starts adding conditions which buyer has to follow but doesn't change their side of the contract. In comparison to previous contracts the buyer looses, pays for less. Get it?
Now people here don't go "aww baww I don't like DRM but I wanna the game plz make DRM go away". I go "I am not going to buy this product on these conditions". My sense of self entitlement is a buyers right. If a company starts selling something on (new, changed) bad conditions I as a potential buyer have a right to criticize it.
You were attempting to correct my first analogy, but you didn't even provide an analogy for the same thing I was referring to so obviously you were the one that didn't understand.
I did understand your first analogy but it had nothing to do with anything we're talking about. Your analogy meant nothing more than "buyer doesn't like sellers product, buyer steals the product" or "they sell video games with someone people don't like, lets pirate it". I made an analogy which was correspondent with reality. You didn't get it at all.
I don't think any of you have room to complain about it until you've actually had any experience with it to be totally honest. You're all making claims that it goes down all the time and doesn't allow you to play games and none of you have even used it yet.
Well I don't have to drive a car made of sugar to have a general idea about what to expect when it starts to rain.
Yeah, as long this DRM doesn't come in any next only-singleplayer game (like ME3) because i often play games in the train.
I just got a response from Ubisoft about my copy of Silent Hunter 4. After building a new computer, I went to install it you see. Activating the game gave me "Activation FAILED: Unknown Error." I submitted a support ticket and waited for a response. Three weeks later (I counted, 21 days) they contacted me with a solution. Turns out I had run out of activations for my game and they had to reset it so I could play again. DRM is fun, isn't it?
Here's another bad DRM situation. Suppose you're in a college dorm and you want to play one of the games using the new DRM. You want to play, but you can't because some jackass brought his own router, which he uses instead of the one provided by the dorm. His router knocks out the router in the dorm at regular intervals for a few minutes at a time. As a result, you can't play your new Ubisoft game because your internet access drops out all the time. DRM is fun, isn't it?
No pirate is going to buy a game just because it takes a little longer for his Russian friends to figure it out.
Jesus this thread has turned into one of the most stupid argument/debate ever, for both sides of it.
I thought everybody hated RUSE.
Well atleast now they do.
If you don't like the contract, don't accept, don't buy the game. Get it?
Oh I won't, but I can say what I think about it.
Okay, but it's not gonna change anything.
We're talking about opinions right now. I'm saying that I don't like it, you're saying that you do like it. Saying that you like it will not change anything. You shouldn't talk about it.
Ubisoft's servers usually always work. They do not go down every tuesday, thursday, friday and sunday. If that's what you meant.
No that's not what I meant. Way to ignore THE IMAGE FOR DUMMIES.
My game didn't melt yet, if that's what you're asking.
The DRM has stopped me from playing.. hmm... once, when a few butthurt faggots DDOS'd Ubisoft's servers.
Have some experience with it before you start whining about how much it sucks.
Again not what I meant. Ok I will spell it out for you:
I don't have to experience something for months to know something is bad or that I will not like it.
You don't have to experience it for months, just for a few minutes.
You haven't had either, it literally works perfectly so far for me barring when the retards DDOS'd it.
[editline]07:02PM[/editline]
No pirate is going to buy a game just because it takes a little longer for his Russian friends to figure it out.
Derp, because your few friends who arn't really pirates buy the game doesn't mean shit.
Normally the people who pirate shit and are smart will wait as long as it takes to get it. The DRM worked weeding out the people who want to jerk off to Ubisofts shitty DRM/games.
the fuck are you guys arguing about anyways?

That because a single person likes the DRM, we don't have the right to dislike it.
That because a single person likes the DRM, we don't have the right to dislike it.
However, we have every right when this (these in fact) person(s) treat others like they are stupid. It's not like that this person will gain his opinion in our judgment.
Well, that fucking sucks, never played a game that played like RUSE before and now they go and butcher it like this.
ITT: OH NO QQ a game that is based around multiplayer is requiring me to be connected to the internet to play!!!! WAAAaaaaaaAAaaaAaaAhHhH!
It still has a singleplayer campaign.
I have a fast connection but it drops every now and then (as does everyone's connection occasionally).
If my connection drops even for a second *BAM* I have to restart the game all because
some Ubishit employee thinks my game just switched to "pirate mode" or something...
Not to mention the fact that if Ubisoft's servers go down, which has already happened, then that will also keep you from enjoying the game you paid for.

Those are people who literally only buy games if it takes awhile for a crack to come out. AC2 was enjoyable anyway, at least it was on PS3 so I wouldn't really call it shit.

So you completely ignore his point and just go ahead and criticise how he spelled a word. Nice.
I can easily do the same thing: you used 'awhile' instead of 'a while', which is not correct. My point isn't to descend into petty grammatical nit-picking, but simply to highlight that trying to insult someone's intelligence as part of of an argument is a bad idea.
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST.
I fucking love this game.
WHY YOUBESOFT!? WHYYYYY!?!?
Oh well.... Atleast I get to spend my money on something else...*sigh*
I personally don't see the issue, I've only once had problems with not being able to play because of ubi's DRM and it was only for a few minutes.
And with the mighty force of the internet I managed to fill those minutes with something more useful than raging over not being able to play a game for a small timespan.
So you completely ignore his point and just go ahead and criticise how he spelled a word. Nice.

Because his point is "IT'S ALREADY BEEN DOWN WHO'S TO SAY IT'LL GO DOWN AGAIN" but the only time it actually was down was because of a DDOS attack and not the servers themselves being shitty.
So assuming people can grow the fuck up they should be fine for quite a while.
I don't know anyone who actually owns AC2, has a consistent internet connection as stated to be required on the box, and dislikes the DRM.

This. As someone who owns Silent Hunter V the DRM has literally never fucked up unless some stupid twat thinks he's edgy and decides to DDOS the servers.
So... Basically Ubisoft learned nothing from people who hated the DRM of AC2?
You're clearly missing the point of the whole thing. People aren't getting annoyed at Ubisoft because of a DDOS atack - they are getting annoyed because they are using an anti-pirating system that is flawed.
It's like if a baker baked a cake and someone took a crap on it. It isn't the bakers fault that there is crap on it, but he's not going to be popular if he tries to sell it.
What a clever ruse
