Guys i'm trying to use the mine edit to mess around with the spawnpoint location...
Whenever i click apply it goes back to the old value, why does that happen?

And yes i didn't read the whole thread nor come here oftenly, can you answer this quick question?

A compass doesn't work in the nether, if you keep walking south, and turn around in the nether, you might be lost. Place one cobblestone brick, or look at netherstone, and you can find your base again.
