If you have Morrowind and/or Oblivion, the music folders of those games hold some goodies which suit mc pretty well.

Are you sure it's not jumping in?
Do you have trees providing shade?
Any small dark patch is enough for a mob.

That's what it probably is. I wouldn't have this problem if the tree leaves would decay like they did.

I've gotten so used to my custom texture pack + AO mod. Now AO is gone because of the update, and my textures look horrible... AO mod needs to hurry up and update so I can use my textures again...
