Great, I just did something gimpy. I decided to start wandering away from my base, so I grab a stack of every building material I think necessary, a few tools and sword and head off, after 1 ingame day of wandering I get beaten to four hearts because I stood to close to my new bases window, next day begins, I jump out and keep going, wander for about 15 minutes and as I check a random hole in the ground... Holy shit, mossy-motherfucking-cobblestone. What do I do? Being the stupid fucker I am I try to move away, but hit the wrong button and slip in, no way back up, and now skeletons are spawning on me, I desperately try to jump and place blocks below me to get out, but to no avail. I know the way back though, and I'm going prepared this time. Also I swear from what I'd heard that dungeons were deep underground? This thing was right near the surface, it was literally a hole in the ground.

Well, the contents of the pack.txt are [code]A smoother, more subtle look Based on the default textures.[/code] The only reason why yours isn't working is that it's called [b]P[/b]ack.txt instead of [b]p[/b]ack.txt
Can anybody recommend a texture pack? Preferably one that's integrated with the texture pack system in Minecraft.

I haven't found a single dungeoun outside of one of my old worlds, where I was stumbling across them left and right. You can always tell cartographer to only display mossy cobblestone, then overly that onto a regular cartographer image to find the dungeons, if you're desperate.

Usually they're connected with cave systems.

I'm not saying you don't, but IF you don't, thats the problem. A few people I know complain that they can't find dungeons, then after I tell them you'll usually find them in large caves, they say they rarely explore natural caves and use man made mines. Before the halloween update I never used mines, always exploring caves, I've probably found 10 or so dungeons.
I can always tell a dungeon is near because of the insane amount of zombie growls.

Then again I LOVE exploring natural caves.

a while ago i came across a spider dungeon... it is quite a ways away from my base but the spawner is still there, i just covered it with dirt so i could make a mob farm with it later. also, does anyone know if i were to make some sort of item transportation system, would the items make it all the way to my base?(about 70 blocks away)
