I'm pretty sure that watch won't work, unless you only changed it for the preview, the dial of it has to be magenta.

by silly i meant the compass spinning makes me laugh sometimes
An altimeter would be useful, it'd help you know when you're about to reach the top/bottom of the world and could help you align distant structures.

Did you delete the META-INF folder from Minecraft.jar?

Also, I added all the current servers to the servers section on the site.
bleh... i still haven't gotten around to getting the biomes mod, it seems to screw up a lot of peoples games.
also, if i were to get that mod and say i wanted to play a default save, would it screw up my save it i opened a world with different settings? is the a default settings button?
