You can always rename the biomesettings.txt file and it'll generate a default one which should work just fine with pre-existing worlds.

Alpha is about 103.43865x better than classic. So yes, you should definitely buy it.

Does anybody hate having to use boosters as much as I do?
Oh, on another note. I'm having trouble with Biome Mod. I installed it using the directions on the Minecraft forums, then I copy pasted the config Onyx posted a couple of pages back. I generated a new world. Nothing, it's just a regular world. No amazing floating chunk, no water or lava falling from magnificent heights in the depths. Just a boring world. Help please?

If you could die from it, I would really fucking hate to just be walking around after I just found some good shit, then I start getting swallowed by the ground and die.
Wouldn't quicksand look like normal sand though? It would be pretty unfair
On the quicksand topic, I always thought it would be cool to have the slowsand slowly bring you down, and one block would not suffocate you, but two stacked on each other would. Jumping repeatedly would bring you back up, but it would require a lot of smashing on the space bar to do so.

I love the steampunk pack, i'm working on a nether outpost (which will eventually contain full living area, including a work room and a boiler room) and plan to expand the giant cavern and surface entrance around it as well as build a small airship.

The only reason I don't like boosters is the fact that I have use use extra resources to make a booster if I'm building a long, tall bridge. I like my bridges to be one block wide and adding a booster makes it look ver lopsided.
