Are you using a modified map? the level seems so flat.
I tried flatmap, and I have to say... I didn't like it. It took forever to load, and I wasn't able to place objects after a certain distance. No coal either.
Also, (on a normally generated map), I forgot spiders could fit through a one block high area. I was building and saw a spider, so closed all but a 2 x 1 wide opening so I could see. I thought I was safe, but the spider jumped up through that opening. Scared me shitless.
Oh yeah, I died too. All I had was 24 torches, 2 buckets, a stone pickaxe, and a few cobblestone slots.
Fuck.

I haven't had the problem in a while though. But a graphical problem I have is when I look in certain directions outside at night, my screen immediately gets darker and I can barely see. as well as some outside caves quickly get dark unless I look outside. Anyone else have this?
