I think the area was quarantined off by the marines, because of the Aliens. since there was a huge honking door right before then, I'd say that's a safe bet.
Yes but the thing is the aliens could just CLIMB OVER THE GATE. I mean really it's an open jungle...
the trophy kills are a bit much really
I'm all for gore but that shit's pretty intense, ripping someone's fucking head off while they scream in pain
these guys are going to get insane amounts of shit and controversy
Well it's better than the older games. All that happened in those is the head just disappeared.
I hope there's a speargun, disc and combi-stick (I didn't know that actually had a name) though, I just can't be a Predator without them.
I choose... prey!
It has Co-op! FUCK DAMN! Gotta get this.
Hopefully the multiplayer lives up to the original AvP games.
I hope it has skirmish mode like in the original AVP1 PC game.

That sounds pretty bad-ass, if I get to roll with my mates as Colonial Marines I'm going to fap.
Beep beep.
....
THIS IS GOING TO BE FUCKING ORGASMIC
I can't wait!
I love how the melee combat looks like. It's not like in most games, where both players just smash a button and the screen possibly shakes a bit. In here, it's this brutal, primitive struggle where the hits actually feel like hits.

Not really. The melee combat in the first video was scripted, and the second one 's melee combat was unremarkable. Am I the only one who thik this doesn't look that good? I liked colonial marines, but thiss one lacks something that I can't place/
They're making it far too consolized.
Quicktime events, predetermined jump points for predators... what's next? Aliens have to lock on to their target before pouncing and then they have to play a DDR type minigame to see whether or not they can kill the guy?
I can't remember, did they keep the move where the predator could cut off an aliens head (or break it's jaw or something like that) or did they remove it because it was too violent?
Or am I thinking of colonial marines?
Wonder how many people just reinstalled AvP 1 or 2 after seeing this?
Like everyone else has said, this does look incredibly awesome.

I just did :v:

Where'd you hear about quicktime events and pre-determined jump points? If these shenanigans are true I don't know if I'll be getting it.

Hurr watch the video.
I didn't see any quicktime events, just the little indicator showing where you'll jump to.
Predator's hud is a bit too cluttery. I hope it will be moddable.

There's a difference. When a quicktime event is done bad, it's like 30 seconds of just repeating buttons on the screen.
In here, it seems more like a buttonsmash, which we've had for ages.
I just farted in joy :3
These quick times look good, a lot better than Force Unleashed's "press these buttons to win!" events. Button mashing...daymn :/

Adding:
And isn't it awesome that you can actually get an alien 5 inches from your head and be able to fight it off? I mean, in AvP2, you basically see the alien for about 2 seconds before one of you is dead.

Quicktime events
Doesn't Developers know that Quicktime events are boring as hell?
redetermined jump points for predators...
This one doesn't mind me, but it would be nice to have same jump style like AvP 2.

Not really quicktime events.

Meh, I saw clumsiness as one of Predator's weaknesses. Like in the movies, Predator is the most vulnerable when he loses his cool and becomes clumsy. Haven't read the comics though, don't know for sure.
In gameplay, Predator has to make coordinated attacks, or else it'll just backfire and end up getting the Predator hurt instead. I think it fits the game pretty well.

the jump points aren't predetermined. it's just that the Predator has a special "focus mode" where he can jump further and higher than a normal jump. it's hard to explain, it was explained better in the articles on all the gaming magazines.
Saw some idiots on youtube who thought the AvP games are based on the movies.
It's the other way round. And is this a game where you can choose who you play?
I hope it has a skirmish mode
Yes, you can chose who to play.

Yes, but because God of War was such a hit everyone must steal just a tiny bit of it and put it in their game. Quicktime is so subtle.
One thing bugs me about the predator demo, he applied his cloak, and had to "sneak" around the aliens. Any real fan would know that aliens can see predators, cloaked or not.
