No they are in a locked room at the White Forest Missile Base.
Yeah, that's true, this time though you can't hear them.
One of my favourite scenes is the warehouse full of dismantled nukes, tripmines, and headcrabs from HL1...
The ichthyhosaurs in HL1 were terrifying and fun to fight. Also, snarks were the best HL1 weapon. Fighting the Apache was memorable as well.
In HL2, the scene in Ravenholm where you're waiting for a slow elevator and fast zombies break in through windows on the roof and attack you. That scared the hell out of me.
Overall, I'd say the best scene in the series so far was the Water Hazard chapter of HL2. I don't think anything can even compare to the airboat vs. helicopter battle.
I didn't care for Magnusson's character at all, I kind of hope he dies in EP3.
The most atmospheric part for me is definitely the bridge on highway 17.
You feel so alone at that point, and the music that starts playing is so chilling.

My favorite scene was in EP2 when you get to see the rocket launch. I felt so rewarded after that, like all that crowbarring madness finally payed off
I quite liked the beginnings of Half-life 1 and Blue Shift when everything was normal (everything malfunctioning, but relatively okay). I sort of hoped Valve would make a game set in Black Mesa in which you just worked as an employee; security guard, scientist, janitor, whatever. Sure, it wouldn't be as exiting as a normal game, but I'm sure Valve could pull it off.
Opposing Force has some pretty cool areas too, like when you have to move down the subway tunnels and take over a small Black Op base inorder to proceed through a security door.
It would be stupid to make a game like that.
A scientist would say "Oh my god!!!! your late for work, you better hurry!!!" And this stupid rock song comes on. And this timer appears on the screen telling you how much time you have until your fired.
LAME!!!

Then explain the Swedish gas pumps!
Then explain the Swedish gas pumps!
It's in Eastern Europe, exact location is undisclosed.
All we know is that it's in an Eastern European city, near a heavy mining area, an ocean, and an Alpine style forest.
I liked the part in HL1 where you got to beat the giant crab's balls with a crowbar, because that was his weakness.
I like when you go back to the original "train stop" and you accidentally kill the scientist :q:
danm, that's a hard one. there were just so many good parts!
my favorite part:
even though HL2 takes place in europe, why do all the cars have the stering whell on the left side?!?!?!?!?!?
D0g, in all his scenes, is absolutely awesome, need more of him in the next game. GET ON IT VALVE.
Defending the tunnels from Antlions in Episode 2.
the entire buggy chapter in HL2
When you first find out that the military wants the entire science team dead in HL1. That gunfight is epic.
The "On Rails" chapter in HL1.
The turret bit at Nova Prospekt.
Lol, They were my least favorite scenes
Xen is the greatest part of any video game ever made.
Too bad everyone hated it though...
My favorite would have to be when you get outside after being in the Antlion cave and you have to fight both the Guardian and the Big Momma.
The Hunter Attacking Alyx and that whole part when your inside the place and you see the hunter run past the window. I've never wanted so bad to be able to yell out to alyx. "WATCH OUT" RUN BITCH RUN!
When I turned around after opening that gate and saw the hunter for maybe half a second, and then it ran away...
I thought I died.

True, true.
But then again, HL was based on Black Mesa, which was in America [Hawks, rocky-desert, and other american stuff]
And HL2 + EP1 + EP2 all seem to be based in russia...
Now for some noggin cracking,
All the verbal text in both games is in english.
1/5 of the in-world text is english in HL2 + EP1, and oddly enough, in EP2 most of the written text you see seems to be english, and if you think about it, the atmosphere seems a bit more american than russian.
And again in EP2, the fact there is a missile bunker seems more American-style.
All of this is quite hard to understand, process, and then know, but if you think about it, the Half-Life series is switched in-between America and Russia...

Don't most European countries have the steering wheel on the left?
True, true.

It's in Eastern Europe. Trust me, the cities, the cars, the roads. It's not America.
Every scene.
No, but seriously; my favourite scene is prolly the Antlion Tunnel defence when the Vorts arrive.
The music made me go all

I laughed my arse off when i first saw that, i love the guy's smug face. My favorite part is the hospital in Ep.1.

oh god this fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
I like the part when you have to drive as fast as you can to blow up the Striders in the second-last chapter of Half Life 2: Episode 2, and the epic music in the background is playing (I have it on my Ipod, it's insane).
"Prepare for unforseen consequences"
That line sends shivers up my spine.

I HATED this part. Absolutley horrific.
I had to kill at least 3 of the striders with goddamn noclip so I could avoid the hunters who always ended up killing me :@
