I haven't gotten much chance to mess around with the level editor since my current machine runs Mari0 as if it were permanently in slow-mo mode. I'm still feeling like I should remake a few of the stages from the Japanese release of SMB2, I dunno if any of the added features from that game were anticipated (poison mushrooms, hidden powerup blocks, wind gusts, etc), but I'll see what I can manage.
I did have fun when I played this on a school computer, which miraculously ran it better than this one can v:v:v

World 8-2 is the biggest, most annoying level I've seen yet.
It felt so satisfying to turn on Big Mario and run through the level smashing everything.

Flying bloopers
underwater koopas and lakitu
1-up on the flag
Backward warpzones
There are cases where you can go over the flagpole and then find that there's a warpzone to the right of the castle.
Red piranha plants that don't give a fuck
Upside down pipes
Super-powerful trampolines
Fucking wind
Hammer bros act differently in world 7 and onward
underwater level endings (world 9 shit)

Goddamn that game was fun. I'm still thankful that we got the Doki Doki Panic rehash though, as it added a lot of things that have stuck with the Mario series and spin-offs such as shy guys, bob-ombs, sparks, pokeys, princess's ability to float, the ability to carry things in hand got a facelift in smb3, the crouching backflip that can be done in the 3d games, and so on.
I should go bug my cousin to borrow his NES again, I feel like playing these games once more :v:

Just a reminder, in case your SMB2 memory is rusty, the things are destroyed upon contact like a powerup would. Even though it's damaging, that one property is unlike enemies and hazards.

Wind would be AMAZING. Could be used for puzzles. Same thing with the trampolines. I
I'd also kill for some stuff from Super Mario World and mario 3.
