Well, alot of the problems are ones you stated, but my main beef is with the guns themselves.
No. 1: Snipers
Their use completely hampered by the "quick-scoping" nerf, I can score only 40% of my kills. I'm a cautious sniper, and tend to zoom out alot to get a look of my surroundings. So when I see a guy, I zoom in. even when perfectly aimed at him, the shot will miss, and this has basically fucked sniping completely over, atleast for me. The other part is the simple fact that snipers<AR in any situation. Assaults have no "priming time" for aiming down a sight, and do more damage in most cases. If you put a silencer on an L96A1, you cannot score a one-shot-kill headshot. You can't. And that should never happen.
Even looking at the gun stats, it's pretty straightforward -
AR's do an average of 40-30 per shot, snipers do about 70. Sniper have no falloff, which is what the second number in the AR's Dps is. However, due to the insanely low fire rate, they're useless.
Onto the comparison of ARs to ARs.
As you know, we had only one semi-auto last game - the FAL. This gun was fun, had a nice sight, an was able to be used in a fight. Now we have two - the M14 and the FN FAL. The M14 is fucking useless. I have used it religiously, and it is completely weak. So weak, in fact, you can get kills with any pistol easier, due to the recoil and low damage. It takes two shots up close with either Semi-auto, but three at long range. The third shot at long range is fucking impossible with the M14, because of the recoil ruining any chance at aiming. The FAL is slightly better due to its low recoil, but the fact remains that full-autos can outmatch it in near any situation, if fired correctly. Don't think I'm just saying this - I use semi-autos to limit myself, because I feel that most guns are just too fucking cheap. The fact that EVERY OTHER AR is 10fold better than the M14 should not exist, but is the case with most of the gun classes.
NEXT PROBLEM, THE IRON SIGHTS AND SOUNDS
Why does every iron sight look nearly the same on ARs? I mean, honestly, the Commando, Famas, Aug, and Enfield have the exact same one. I'm well aware that this might be accurate, but what's stopping them from finding-or atleast adding- a little variety to the gun's looks?(Same goes with the general sound of the guns.) I mean, sure the camo's nice, but there's no drive to get it, and there's no feeling of accomplishment. Speaking of which
NEXT DOWNER: LACK OF "YOU'RE FUCKING GREAT"
Remember in MW2, how whenever you got a challenge, a great, noticeable sound played along with a great, noticeable....notice? How you had to WORK for the challenges, but you got an emblem, maybe even a title out of it? Well, that's gone, and challenges have become nothing but a suggestion. You can get just as many CoD points by using a gun you're used to rather than a new one, due to the low amount of money gained per challenge. Why gain $100 extra from a 1000 point 75-kill challenge when you could get those 10 kills EASILY by just using your Commando? And remember, headshots mean nothing anymore.
THE NEW SYSTEMS
Ballistic knives where supposed to be great - hard to use, but easy to get the hang of. But what did we get? Fucking useless weapons that only work as a failed attempt at humiliation weaponry. Sure, it feels great to get a kill with them, but how often do you get those? The leading mechanic is completely ruined with ANY lag, and therefore renders the knives useless. The added lunge to compensate, however, is also ruined by the fact that EVERY FUCKING GUN IS STRONGER. I have no evidence, but I swear that's the case.
Also, contracts.
They could have been a great way to encourage people to try new things, just for a short time - like challenges, but more "spur-of-the-moment".
But what did we get instead? Fucking "get 15 headshots in 40 minutes".
There's only like 12 weapons that cycle, and there's always the same challenges. Never any interesting ones like "get a double kill with Nova gas" but always fucking headshot ones. Contracts as a system have just completely failed me.
LASTLY, EQUIPMENT AND SECONDARIES
As a secondary, shotguns were fun and unexpected weapons to unleash on unknowing opponents. Now, as primaries, their damage remains the same, perhaps lower. Why is this, though? Shouldn't a primary stack-up against other primaries of it's type? Well, they don't. Not anymore. There's just so little variety in the secondaries that it makes me feel underwhelmed. The equipment, too, just feels unvaried - ironically - most likely because before, the grenades where considered equipment. Sure, there's a few things, but there's really only four categories, exhibited as though they were grandiose and varying.
The four equipment types are:
EXPLOSIVE (non-grenade)
RECONNAISSANCE
EXPLOSIVE (grenade)
And Tactical insertion.
Where's the variety?
Also, the fucking spawning system, and for me atleast, the lack of Harriers. How I miss those wonderful Harriers that didn't kill me because I used cold-blooded.
I know some of this is impossible due to the time-setting, but surely a game studio could find a way to compensate?
The sights look better than MW2 and have for more variety.

I sprint towards the crate, the unaware team member slowly advancing himself. I was going too slow, I wasn't going to get it. I flicked my mouse wheel, drawing my Python. I sighted the team mate who was running for his crate, and fired. The guy flipped back, crumpling dead on the ground. I happily scooped the crate, quite pleased with the acquisition of the spoils of war. As I'm calling it in, I hear over the microphone "there is no way my luck is that bad." I flicked the poor guy a heartfelt message comprised of the words: [b]Tough shit, faggot[/b].

I agree with these.
In the last few matches I was trying to use the L96, I rarely got a kill. (Although I did quickscope and headshot someone :v:) Most of my kills were either from my pistol, claymore or grenade. I like how they made it almost impossible to quickscope - but they should have [I]only[/I] done that. Snipers are really useless now. I shot people in the chest and they lived to snipe me with their famas. (70 * 1.5 = 105, so they should have died)
I love using the FAL, but I don't use it due to me losing every one on one fight. It's [I]impossible[/I] to win against an automatic weapon if you aren't half the map away, even then you probably will die.
The spawning system is terrible. I got knifed as the last kill in the round, the final killcam was a guy spawning 10 feet behind me, running up and knifing me. :colbert:
And I hate how everyone can hipfire (With or without steady aim) and win vs a fight with me, even if I sight-in and fire first.
I still like it more than MW2 though.

All they do is make it about 10 times harder if you use them.
I actually find the FAL better than some full autos. My best game was using a FAL, I think I went 30-4 or something, and got a few 6 kills streaks.
