Why is it harder to spot claymores than in the other CoD games?

I use claymores. Nothing wrong with claymores.. I'd rather get a kill by blowing someone to shits then getting knifed from behind by some guy who walks in freely while I'm looking out a window in a building.

After playing Black Ops on a friends PS3 i have decided to buy it for the Xbox 360, Ps3, Pc and the Wii. I don't even own an Xbox or Ps3 either, but thats how awesome it is

I was just playing sharpshooter with some bots, fuckers cheat so bad weapon was dual makarovs, bastards kept tracking me through walls then soon as I pop out, two shots straight into my head they're the perfect mix of uselessly shit and ridiculously good to make you hate them forever

Apparently on the internet, i'm not very popular, i don't understand why since i'm not acting like a dick nor have i done for a while.

I dare someone to defend claymores as a good addition to the game. I argue that if they were taking out nothing would change except a few people not getting their free kills.
