Oh shit, now I remember that dialouge. God damn it, Treyarch, that year skip damaged the plot unfolding!
Yeah, I really wish they had explained what happened in 1963 a little better. 1964-8 don't really matter.
The campaign was fun and had a cool story line although [sp]the interactivity and the killing of Dragovich in my opinion was poorly done, grab leg then strangle in some random part of a ship with little else of anything else as compared to in MW2 staggering and crawling, pulling a knife out of yourself in a struggle and throwing it into Shephard's eye. As well as this when you get out of the boat Weaver says ayy war is done and then some funky rock music starts playing out of nowhere in a low volume that wasn't fitting.[/sp] apart from all that stuff though it's all good.

Yea, now it's a plot hole that swallowed an important event in the game which is only partially explained later on.

Just a symptom of a game that was so scripted it could have been a feature-length motion picture.

Exactly.

It was satisfying IMO. Also it didn't ended with a cliffhanger like MW2.
Endgame was pretty bland to me. Corridor shooting followed by button mashing, fade to black and surprise surprise you're lost control of your character again.
I also died in the Hind fight about 10 times before realizing you're not supposed to try to win. Poorly done, that.
The part where [sp]you play as both Mason and Hudson[/sp] was much more climactic.
So I found a personal little solution to the incredible stutter that this new patch has given me. I'm not sure if it will work for everyone, but I'm going to go ahead and share it anyways.
First off, whenever I run Black Ops, I alt tab out and go into my task manager, and go to "Set Priority" on the exe. For whatever reason, it now starts at "Below Normal."
The 2nd thing I did, which was probably the major reason it worked, is I disabled my second monitor. I don't know exactly how many of you guys have set ups that include 2 monitors, but try completely disabling your secondary monitor before playing the game, to see if it helps. If it does, let me know, I'm curious.
I think what they should have done for snipers in black ops is.
kept the 2-3 second zoom in time
Remove sway and the need to breath in.
So basically it'd be like Counterstrike/promod (Except with a longer zoom in time)
I've also heard that setting it to high priority helps, though not a lot.

It had a very small one.

Campers everywhere would rejoice.

Oh wow.
You cry when people kill you with a sniper too close and move around
You cry when people take time with their shots and sit in one spot (BECAUSE YOU SAY THAT'S WHAT SNIPERS ARE MEANT TO DO)
Try using a sniper at the moment, they're broken as fuck

You are not suppossed to win? I shot one down, the other one strafed my rockets the whole time.

No peace is permament.

Look. The reason the sway/hold breath exists is so you can't take shot after shot and only have to worry about recoil. A long scope-in time is meaningless to someone who's camping, since they have all the time in the world to scope in and wait.
Yes, snipers are supposed to stay in one place, but they are also supposed to MOVE AFTER THEY SHOOT. Being able to shoot and shoot and shoot once you're scoped without worry about accuracy is a camper's dream, because there's no post-shot vulnerability.
Also, thanks for putting words in my mouth (when did I say anything about close-range sniping/quickscoping?) and giving me a box. Real mature.

The Hind fight at the very end, not the one in Laos.
Hey bro, camping is a legit strategy. A fair one I might add.
Fine, remove sway just for the bolt action sniper then, also grab any sniper, hold the breath and take a shoot.
It arches into the air and you have to readjust the sights anyway, it's a useless mechanic to have breath. Other games have snipers with no breath mechanic and pull it off far better than the call of duty series

Just sounded too ominous to me for it to be meant as a passing comment.

Should sway be lessed? Maybe. But both that and breath mechanics (that have been in every CoD game, thankyouverymuch) serve the purpose of keeping snipers in the "shoot once, shoot effectively" category of weapon.
Anyone else think that the minigame in the singleplayer lobby is awesome, Deadly Ops Arcade?
Fuck me we play it with friends more than regular zombies

Could just be a reference to the MW titles, since by COD4 you're fighting Russians again :v:
Wow why even try to do this:

You can still have that without sway.
You fire.
Your sights go flying into the air
you have to readjust, if you miss the first shot you're fucked.
Luck that the shot went where it did + lag placing him there when the player had already run past.

The sway is there because of the breathing. Holding your breath disables the sway.
I'm willing to compromise, though--getting rid of sway on snipers that don't one-two shot, since they're "lighter" and would be easier to control.
The patch fixed the lag for me! :downs:!
[editline]20th November 2010[/editline]
It fixed the lag, but maps take half a fucking hour to load. WITH BOTS.
So this patch got my hopes up, I start the game, sweet no lagging no nothing. Still the sound bug on the loading cut scenes but fuck that. The game starts and yadda yadda, the game runs perfectly, no lag great graphics 50 constant fps and i got my hopes up! So when the militia man comes up and woods sticks his knife in the militia guys hand, the blood turns into black squares, the pistol turns black and the game freezes my computer.
What the fuck is the problem now? I'm still getting missing textures? I've reinstalled 10 times already.
SP also doesn't lag anymore!
You're lucky Angry, this patch did nothing.
Still shit fps problems, still 0 fps for 5-10 seconds of starting rounds.
Great going Treyarch, sure know how to please your PC community.
Fucking tossers.
Holding breath while sniping is for pussies.
Real men don't need to watch through the scope for more than 1 second.
Ze patch! It doez naathing!
